Who, exactly, is the idiot? I understand your point about a person who pays a ridiculous amount of money for a trinket, but what about the person who buys that trinket for $100 knowing that they can sell it again for $200 or more? Isn't the 2nd person being rather smart by working the system and taking advantage of others who don't know any better. I'm not talking about morality here, just being smart and taking advantage of society as it is.

One's failure to converse coherently does not necessarily indicate that one is not interested in doing so. To imply that it does may well constitute a mistaken imputation regarding motive. That one is unable to converse coherently may simply reflect an inability to do so.
