How do you know beyelzu gave scums alternate ids to the scums? (unless of course if you one of them)

because i've played this game a couple times.

I've also played this game a couple of times.
Perhaps accidentally slipped something that you weren't supposed to reveal?

It's pretty common to give scums alternative IDs in case of mass role claims and it's been the case that in the last several games, the scums had alternative IDs.

What is the weekend schedule?

I'll be leaving for a long awaited antiquing foray with my son in about an hour. I'll make my votes final before I go, because I may not be back home by 6:00 (9:00 eastern time).

I don't know about the mass-claim idea. I've never seen it work.

By that do you mean it is no help for the town, or do you mean it backfires and helps the scum?

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice Mafia: Game Thread
You missed my vote for damian, but that's ok because I'm changing it since he explained his vote for me.
I'll vote Skydin on the lynch the quiet ones principle.
And damian, you're wrong. I'm town.
After watching the Hitchhikers Guide mafia at RnR last week, it looks like a widely split vote in the day's final hours plays into the hands of scum, who can swing the vote easily to a townsfolk in the last hour. Hope y'all avoid that today.

you should read the Big Love one to see the name claim in action. It worked really well. It has also worked well other games similar to this one, where you know who the evil aligned characters are because of the theme. There are only so many starks, lannisters, et al. Scum are going to have to claim to be some obscure stark or neutral aligned characters like syrio.

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice Mafia: Game Thread
I did read that one. Name reveals definitely made it more interesting for spectators, and looked like it also livened up the game for the players.
Ok...really gone now. There's a candlestick somewhere in Martinez with my name on it.

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice Mafia: Game Thread
I don't mind a name reveal, but 2 thing worry me a little.
First, I've never read the books, so it will be less useful for me than people who know the books. This worry can be lessened by reading up on wiki though.
Second, what trillian said. Will name claiming reveal info bad for the town? Since I don't know the characters, I can't answer that one.
As to my vote, I'll leave it for now. If dalt shows up, I'll likely move off him though.

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice Mafia: Game Thread
like i said, you sacrifice a bit to scum by letting them speculate who is a special based on names, but when it works, it doesn't matter. so they might see ned stark, catelyn, jon, arya, etc, and have to guess, but we'd potentially narrow scum down to 4-5 people. It's a gamble, but this game is never won by playing it safe (except when you're scum).

Noone's saying anything particularly scummy, and I dont suspect anyone, therefor no opinions or suspicions or randomness to post, therefor no posts.
I'm soo sorry I'm not the type to post in a thread for no reason mr. pot in every chicken, garage in every car, and stroller in every baby.

Well, I might as well cast a vote, as nightfall isn't too far away. I figure it's safe to vote dalt54321, given the prolonged absence. If nothing else, it keeps bey from having to find a replacement player.

This dalt character hasnt been online since 8/11 and was only a week old member when he signed up. Any reason we should expect him back? Anyone know him? (or her for that matter)

Nope, one of the reasons, I looked around for a replacement player was that I figured dalt had abandoned the game.

unvote, vote dalt. unfortunately, he's probably not scum as scum probably would've insisted on a replacement.
