I just finished my last exam, and have come to the realization that between in-class essays, a final research paper, my reading responses/notes/review sheets/outlines, and excluding allll my ramblings at ya'll, I have written aproximately 7,500 in the last 26 hours. :tired:

On the plus side I no longer have any fears in regard to finishing NaNoWriMo this year. A whole month!? Psh!50,000 is no big deal. I am made of steel. And yet it taken me three tries to write this last paragraph, and it still looks wrong.

I am in Minneapolis this week attending the ELCA Churchwide Assembly. On Wednesday the building where we are meeting was struck by a tornado. Damage was minimal and located at the far end of the (very large) building. No one was injured, but there were moments of high anxiety.

I imagine there were. My niece was two doors down from a Kohl's Department Store in Beaumont, Texas when it was struck by a tornado a few days ago, a little anxiety there too.

My aunt was driving down the road when she heard the tornado warning on the radio. She pulled into the parking lot of a furniture store, and hid under the tables with customers and employees. They saw the funnel cloud across the street through the glass front.

I am totally bummed that I was stuck in a stupid meeting instead of standing outside somewhere where I could have gotten to actually see the funnel cloud. I had been outside having a smoke just moments before, but, being the responsible sort, I had just returned to the meeting when the tornado struck.

Tornadoes seem like they'd be a neat thing to see, but they are not.

I spent a week in Detroit, and then a long time in Texas (should have been a four-hour layover, but it was a lot longer), so I still do not know what time it is. I am almost finished with the book I was supposed to have read before going....

There's a big kids' party tomorrow - but now it's all cloudy and the party is supposed to be outside, so I am a bit stressy about it.

Joesix has moved in and keeps cooking and cleaning for me - he is not afraid of spice, which is excellent.

1. We had an 18-hour power failure, from 8:30am to around 2am yesterday. Joy.

2. My nose is sore and running and my sinuses are blocked and I can't sleep but I can't do anything much while awake.

3. My car is out of action, needing a new brake disc.
