“All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.” -Adam Smith
Outlining his rationale for calling the election now the Taoiseach said a Brexit deal had been achieved which would see the UK exit the EU in an “orderly” fashion.
“There will be no hard border, citizens’ rights have been protected and the Common Travel Area will remain in place,” he said.
He said an agreement to restore powersharing in Northern Ireland had also been reached.
He said the next priority was to secure a free-trade agreement between the EU, including Ireland, and the United Kingdom, that protected the Irish economy.
I think you'd be okay. The main picture shows the burnt out remains of a lorry on the side of a motorway, with lots of burned tubes lying on the ground alongside. There are some white circles visible, but I think they're probably tube caps rather than Pringles - in any case the circles are tiny: only about few pixels across -and too blurry to see any detail.
Another photo shows the lorry while it was still on fire, but from too far away to see any of the contents.
There are no recognizable Pringles visible anywhere in the article, as far as I can see.
The BBC photo was not only smaller than the one But linked, but also cropped away the foreground that contains the most visible of the heinous discs.
I suppose they pixelated the fireman's face for privacy reasons, and the back of the trailer because of advertising? But why the little pixelated block over one of the tubes on the ground (under the nearest bottom corner of the trailer in the photo)?
The police were called on Thursday evening in Turku, Finland to remove a passenger riding a city bus without a ticket.
A large dog hopped on a bus alone at a stop in the city, failed to purchase a ticket, and calmly took a seat and a long ride.
The driver contacted police who picked up the "well-behaved pooch" and later posted "photo evidence of the day's ticketless passenger", playfully berating the canine for not reading the rules, and informing the public that the dog had been safely conveyed to a shelter.
There was a time when American executive could be considered an honest enough figure at the table, and then there's now.
He did say it: “What [Trump] has been able to do today is deliver for the Palestinians a pathway to a state, a contiguous territory and conditions where they can EARN their way to independence, their DIGNITY, all those different things”—Jared Kushner. Why must they EARN dignity?!
But more seriously, 62 million watched Trump make fun of a disabled reporter and thought "YEAH THAT'S WHAT WE NEED!". Another 105 million couldn't be arsed to care.
Eta: this guy puts it well
2. One of America’s key strengths is that, for all its flaws, it is seen as standing for something greater than itself, and at its best moments evinces a generosity and decency of spirit that can powerfully redefine even its relationship with its enemies.
