Damn, this weekend's Iowa Blue Ribbon Bacon Fest is sold out.
600 people bought tickets to chow down on a thousand pounds of bacon and bacon goodies, such as the Baby Boomers Cafe in the East Village famous chocolate chunk cookies with bacon. There is a bacon-eating contest Saturday.

Tried one today. Not bad, pretty tasty, actually. This sammich definitely will be high on my list of fast foods that won't kill your carb count. Next up, the grilled version.

So I tried my first bit of chocolate bacon today.
I'm not sure how I feel about it.
It was a bar that had salt and bacon flavor in the chocolate itself, and it wasn't super dark.
I think I might prefer a darker chocolate just being on a piece of bacon, rather than having the chocolate have bacony flavor in it.
