Some new channel appeared on our DTV a few weeks back. they run Star Trek episiodes, 1 of each series, back-to-back every weekday.
It's been kinda fun to watch, (though 4-5 hours of ST a day is really stretching it.)
I forgot just how cheesy the original series could be. And how preachy 2nd Gen could get. Not to mention being astounded by the complete naivete and lack of situational awareness that a Captain of a Federation Starship could possess.
And I have developed a whole new appreciation for Micheal Dorn.

This is great. Also, if that graphic is accurate, Archer should've been court martialed and stripped of his command. Although, to be fair, if Star Trek were real, the captains of starships would almost certainly be subject to far more scrutiny by high command than they are in Star Trek.
Also, where is Sisko? He captained the Defiant and is missing from this list entirely. Then again, seeing as how he commanded during wartime, his death count would be disproportionately higher. Ooh. I think I might need to reconsider Archer's death count since the third season had them engaging in a dangerous mission to destroy the Xindi superweapon. His third season would also act as an outlier.

Under no circumstances should Quentin Tarantino be allowed to befoul Star Trek.
Okay. It's going to be locked behind the pay-for-streaming service, but I may not be able to help myself. Captain Picard has always been my favorite. And at least for a little while on the Earth, he'll be my most favorite on account of .
If you don't mind binge-watching the shows, you can simply wait until the seasons are over, and binge them so as to minimize the length of your subscription.
You could get through Discovery's first two seasons plus Picard's first season with slightly more than one episode a day for a month. If you still get the free trial week, you could do it with one a day and avoid paying for a second month.
I've seen season one Discovery dvds for sale in the store; I may even buy them eventually. I'm guessing that the Picard series will eventually make its way to dvd/blu ray as well?
