Re: Legs' "truth is stranger than fiction" Daily
A rugby fan who cut out his testicles with wire cutters to mark a Wales victory is at a loss to explain why he did it.
After performing the deed, Mr Huish put his severed anatomy in a bag and took them to his local social club to show fellow fans.
He collapsed with blood loss and was rushed to hospital but surgeons could not reattach his missing parts.

Re: Legs' "truth is stranger than fiction" Daily
A Sioux Falls man is charged with indecent exposure after being found partially unclothed and lying on the floor with a female mannequin in the Washington Pavilion.
Michael James Plentyhorse, 18, 708 N. Dakota Ave., was discovered by a Pavilion security officer at 4:35 p.m. Monday in the Washington High School Alumni Room, police said.
The guard observed Plentyhorse with his pants and underclothing down and lying next to the half-naked female mannequin, a police report states.
“There was inappropriate activity between him and the mannequin. That’s the only way I know how to put it,” Sioux Falls police officer Loren McManus said.
Security staff at the Pavilion say they have noticed the same mannequin has previously been found undressed on several occasions, McManus said.

Attack of the Night Monkey
Mississippi: An elderly woman received 20 stitches after being attacked and bitten by a kinkajou, a racoon-like pet that authorities said escaped from a home five miles away.
Sadie Hester, 82, said she heard her dogs barking and fighting with something on the front porch Friday night.
"I went out there Saturday morning about 8 to clean up the porch because they'd torn everything up," she said. "I thought whatever it was, was gone. I never saw him."
Hester said as she started sweeping, the kinkajou jumped on her and wrapped his tail around her arm.
"He kept biting my hands because I was trying to pry his teeth out of my hands," she said. "I just kept trying to get him off, and he tore up my left arm pretty bad."
The animal is often referred to as "night monkey," but is kin to the raccoon. It is native to the tropical rainforest zone of Central and South America, weighs 4 to 8 pounds and ranges in color from cream to dark brown.

Re: Legs' "truth is stranger than fiction" Daily
A pregnant woman ticketed ticketed for driving in the carpool lane will have her day in court next month to argue that her unborn child counts as a second person in the car.
"I understand the reasoning for the HOV lane," said Candace Dickinson, 23. "But whether my son is in a car seat versus in my stomach, I don’t get it. It’s the same thing."
"He asked how many people were in the car with me, and I said, ‘Two’ and he said ‘No, one.’ I said I was nine months pregnant and had my son in the car with me," she said. "The way the law is written, he can occupy the vehicle without occupying a seat."

Re: Legs' "truth is stranger than fiction" Daily
Alright, stupid confession time.
As I understand it, the HOV rules are there to encourage carpooling. Therefore, in my mind, only those cars with more than one eligible driver in the car should be allowed in the HOV lane. Now, I know it's impossible to ensure that at least one passenger is a licensed driver, so I make the allowance for the passenger to be of driving age.
What does this mean? It means that I don't think children should qualify as an additional occupant for HOV eligibility. It just doesn't seem quite fair. There's no way this is ever going to be enforcable, so I leave it alone.
But, when I'm driving with my daughter in her carseat and there's a lot of traffic, I still don't take the HOV lane.
It's about the only principled stance I've ever taken in life.

An Australian food agency is trying to quell fears about glow-in-the-dark meats. In a statement released Wednesday, the New South Wales state Food Authority said the glowing phenomenon is caused by a harmless light-emitting bacteria that is naturally present in most meats and fish.
"While most of us would understandably be shocked to see our food glowing, it is important to remember that the microorganism responsible for the glow is not known to cause food poisoning," the authority's director general, George Davey, said in the statement.

7 year old stopped by police for speeding
A Highway Patrol officer pulled-over Alan Sleeper's pickup when it was clocked doing 74 on a 55-mile-an-hour highway.
The officer was stunned to find out the pickup was being driven, not by Sleeper, but by a seven-year-old girl.
Officers say the child was at the wheel and Sleeper was in the passenger seat.

PM Won't Answer Questions Because Planets Not Aligned
Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has said he will not answer reporters' questions until next year because the alignment of the planets is not in his favor.
"Right now Mercury ... is in a corner perfectly aligned with my star. Mercury is no good, so if it's not good, I am going to request not to speak. I'll just wait until next year to talk," Thaksin told reporters Sunday after returning to Bangkok from a trip to South Korea and China.

Re: Legs' "truth is stranger than fiction" Daily
A fugitive being chased by police in southern Italy gave them the slip by running into a church - only to find it occupied by police officers who let him join the service before taking him to jail.
Gilberto Antonio Carnoale, 48, had been wanted for escaping from house arrest.
Police were chasing him but he got away and dashed into a church, where other police were attending mass. They recognised him and arrested him, news agency Ansa said.
But before taking him to jail, they honoured his request to attend the rest of the mass in the church in the small southern town of Soverato.

Wow! There was a fatal truck accident in Oklahoma earlier this year or late last year that killed a man and his two children, very young, like 1-1/2 and 4 or 5 years old. Near as they can tell, the older child was driving or at least steering the truck down the road when it hit a bridge abutment. The truck was on cruise control and the children's father was in the SLEEPER.

Jesus on a Tailgate
An image on a truck tailgate has sparked a new wave of religious pilgrims in Texas.
Portraits of Jesus Christ and a table full of candles surround what some are calling a miraculous image.
Believers say the face of Jesus is visible in the dirt on the tailgate.
Since word of the vision got out, at least 150 people have made a pilgrimage to visit the truck.
Some light candles, some take video or pictures and some just pray.

It's just sad that you have so little faith, Warren. Why shouldn't Christ be concerned with tailgaters?
