I made cupcakes and buttercream icing from scratch today. I even piped froguar's cupcake in all-over orange stars. I only gave up after everyone present for dinner had a cupcake sitting nicely in the cake stand.

Re: In Which We Brag About Our Petty Accomplishments
I got a check in the mail today for $500 because I won a computer engineering scholarship from the NSA. It came just in time, too, because I have been super not motivated about school. I totally slacked off over winter break I didn't get half the shit done over the break that I wanted to, despite busting my ass a whole lot. Then as soon as the semester started I got fired from my teaching gig, then got all fluish for a couple weeks and I missed a deadline today.* I was starting to question whether I even wanted to bother to keep it together long enough to finish my program when this thing shows up in the mail and makes me feel all good about myself again. Gold stars and cash money are fairly good motivators, apparently.
*not accomplishments

Re: In Which We Brag About Our Petty Accomplishments
Okay, so my wife is the merchant for that product.
Hooboy, those are some cheap ass quality paints. It was like painting with melted crayons. Stuff would not cover evenly or dry into a consistent color. And it fell off the model at the slightest touch, even when dry.
Not my best work, but I don't care, it's the message that was more important.
I'm curious to see if any visitors to the site will notice.

And don't none of you comment on the product page, I want to see if it happens organically.

Re: In Which We Brag About Our Petty Accomplishments
I think the cheap ass paints make it look like it was done DIY like it was. I personally prefer that to faked photos that are not representative of the product. Have you ever seen the photos on the boxes for fake Christmas trees? OMG I am expert Christmas tree fluffer (yes yes, Butthead I said fluffer) and the trees never look like that.
Oh, I have a petty accomplishment. I successfully SEO'd my part time jerb employer to the top of Googlez.

Re: In Which We Brag About Our Petty Accomplishments
Ooh! My turn for petty accomplishments!
I managed a fabulous Superbowl feast all by myself!
Well, it was really only three little things. I made a super chunky pico de guacamole. There was too much chunky pico de gallo for the amount of guacamole, but it was alright anyway. I also made a super easy chili frito pie. But the thing I'm proud of is the buffalo fried chicken. See, I've never pan or deep fried chicken before so I was special anxious about it.
See, my dear friend and roommate loves wings. My original plan was to make some fried chicken tenders but he was insistent that he have real wings - but not even wings but full size chicken legs. The good news is that I didn't bort it up like I was afraid I would. Here it is the day after the big game and out of the 10 legs I fried and buffalo'd there are zero left.

Re: In Which We Brag About Our Petty Accomplishments
horale, wei! I just went back and took a real good look at that product and description (okay, honestly, I was checking for organic comments) and I'm like, what a cute idea! It's like your designing of superheroes on the computer (is that City of Heroes or something?), but in real life. So at the end you have a real toy instead of a digital picture. Your wife's thing is like your thing, only way better!
Oh, but your painting is good.

I looked at that page in Chrome for a lonnnnng time trying to make sense out of your posts, then opened it with IE and finally saw the people's comments. I still don't get any of it, mind you, but at least I know what I'm not getting now!

Yeah, nothing will bring them out faster than a penis product.
If more people would like the comment about City of Heroes, it would push it up to the top of the Facebook comments on the product page. But, it doesn't look like word about this product is really getting out to the CoH community.

Are those decals VINYL?
(I had the same problem as vm. I just sometimes assume you're all talking about stuff from the secret forums or something, but then I'm like, "Oh, yeah.")

I got that picture in my e-mail. Think Geek has proven a wonderful source of Library Week gifts. I now feel compelled to give that kit to one of my coworkers who would appreciate it.

I freaking nailed my chemical equilibrium quiz. Hopefully my first exam comes back okay too. That only leaves... A metric fuck-ton of schoolwork this week. Yay?
