Laugh Re: Trivial things that amuse you

I amused myself with this; maybe I'll amuse some of you with it too...

I got an ipod for my b-day last week.

I love it.

I hooked it up to just my right ear at work today for the first time and it's great.

Not amusing in the least, I know.

But wait, there's more...

I went outside for break and was talking to my husband on my cell with my left ear while still listening to music in my right ear.

I had the music on low and there was a lotta background noise outside at the time.

A song ended and another began ... softly.

Still not amused? Wait for it...

Today's stupidity, although it almost gave me a brain aneurysm, I found amusing in a :whoa: .. :nowai: .. kinda way.

At the end of the day, the receptionist/cashier who was out the day before, came up to me and said as more of a statement then a question, "A cash drawer deposit wasn't made yesterday, was it." I looked up from what I was doing and replied, "Yes, it was." She then argued with me that we couldn't/wouldn't have because the banks weren't open yesterday. I said, "We don't go to the bank with the day's deposit until the next day anyway, so what would that matter?" She stood there looking unconvinced. :dumb: So, I followed it up with, "Things were done as usual yesterday." I figure that's the end of it when she comes out with the real reason she thinks that a cash deposit was not made from the cash drawer from yesterdays sales...

She said, "Well, you couldn't have made a deposit from the cash drawer yesterday because I'm $28 short today." ... :ohgod:

At work when everyone was discussing what they had watched on tv the night before, I mentioned that I had watched episodes of Felix The Cat ~ :notes: The wonderful, wonderful cat! :notes: and a co-worker that I'll refer to as "DD" says.... "Cartoons?? How old are you??" :eyebrow2:

I responded, "When I'm not watching cartoons, I'm reading about neuroscience. What do you read about when you're not watching sports?" :eyebrow:

While he was still busy trying to wrap his big mouth and little mind around the word "neuroscience", I followed up with, "Do you know what an amygdala is... never mind.. you don't know how to spell it or know what it is."

He had finally came up with a reponse by the time I got back to my desk, which was, "Neuroscience is for sissies!" :derp:

just.. wow

It's all fun and games until someone gets their amygdala figuratively kicked in. :giggle:

That amuses me.

I am translating a text which contains the following sentence: Atomised water is sprayed into the warm air in the house.

Atomised water? Really? So it's hydrogen and oxygen that you are actually spraying?

I don't know why, but I can't get enough of this stupid commercial.

It's the bit with the credits, of course. It just keeps making me  every time.

Also, I just noticed this thread is 5 years old. :fflove:

Watching my cat watch cat videos.

Ebony also has a belly flap* that is amusing to watch sway side to side when she trots in front of me.

* a loose flap of fatty skin below the the abdomen and extending between the back legs. Also called a primordial pouch. Not all cats have them, and it's visible in house cats and large cats like tigers and leopards, etc.

When I'm using the restroom at work and there are two or more people in the stalls waiting for the room to clear out so they can do their business alone. Come on, ladies, we are engineers. Deadlock detected!

Naw way, man. I come in and do the real thing as loud as I can, then yell "Edison out!" and drop the mic as I leave.

First day in the university dorms, went to do my business in the bathroom, I think there were 5 stalls. I pick one and as I'm sitting down I hear some guy call out from the next one "Who's my dumping buddy?"
