Things I learned last night that need more experimenting. If your dream constructs share similar powers to you such as walking through walls, careful telling them they're really in a dream, it may just break them.

The dream itself was about a bunch of friends and random people staying in a large vacation home that was an old stone castle like construction. Where people were occasionally walking through the walls to get outside. The in dream reason was that the original creator was some sort of thief or evil 'wizard' on the run and created illusion walls to hide things behind or to slip out of rooms to throw people off his track.

After telling a construct (person) it was actually because they were in a dream, I then proved it by getting them to write down the rules to their favorite game and then changed the rules to a cookie baking recipe since long amounts of text are often pretty unstable and shift after they've been read. Accidentally causing the construct to break down and become inconsolable.

I have a hypothesis that phasing through walls is actually hacking your internal mapping system. My method is to walk towards a wall as if it's not there, close my eyes right before I get to it and then open them again on the other side. The location is often pretty stable and a few times I've tested this by arranging items in a room, phasing out through the wall, running around the corner and phasing through a different wall, bringing me to the exact same room only of course turned 90°. The current hypothesis is that my brain is tracking my footsteps in an internal map and without any visual clues just assumes that walking three feet straight forward puts me in room B and thus that's where I should be, assumed wall be damned. But of course this could be all bunk.

Anyway, fun with lucid dreaming!

I have, ok not into actual walls but illusion walls, that either use optical illusions or aligned plastic strips that replicate the wall pattern. With your eyes open you absolutely stutter step before hitting the fake wall.

Hold onto your hats. This is a joke so hilarious and incisive that it came to me in a dream, and I forced myself to remember it into real life:

Corned Michelob

I forgot the context, but I'm sure that when that context arises someday, it will be apparent.

I dreamed that someone was like "what's wrong with your face, do you have hives?" and I peeked in a convenient nearby mirror and indeed my face was covered in little hives. Dense, like freckles, but red. They didn't hurt and I wasn't worried cuz I break out in hives sometimes. I was like "guess I'm allergic to something"

That was it.

I probably ate some corned michelob.

My face looked like corned Michelob.

Sorry, haven't found it yet, pea. There's def. something there tho. :unnod:

I dreamed I was awakened by gunshots fired by a neighbor girl who was wearing a pink cowgirl outfit with a white hat and white fringes, while riding a horse in the front yard. In my dream, I saw her shooting red balloons tied to fence posts. Pow, pop. Pow, pop. Pow, pop. She never missed. In the dream I got back into bed and went back to sleep. Then I was really awakened by what sounded like gunshots. I got up and looked out the window. No girl, no horse, no balloons, and no shooter that could see. Next door neighbor was using a nail gun.

At one point I walked into a big room with hundreds of people like a lecture theater or a town hall where a computer science professor welcomed all the mayors. I got the impression that I wasn't supposed to be there, so I asked someone, who said that it was all open to the public. I sat on a couch in the front row with a drink. There was a movie screen with a video feed of live brain surgery from an adjacent room. The doctor had removed about a third of the brain which now looked like an abstract sculpture. I wasn't sure if he knew what he was doing.

I've forgotten the rest.

I was skydiving / parachuting while wearing skis. I was over some big snow-covered hills and what I had to do was land, jettison the 'chute and then ski back to my house. But the challenge was that I was only allowed to slide downhill, or use my momentum to coast for short level or uphill sections - I wasn't allowed to do any of that nordic-style skiing to 'walk' on the level or uphill bits. So I had a few tries at it, but although I was covering maybe ten miles from the landing spot, I couldn't quite finish the last 50 yards or so along the final bit of level road to my house - I figured that I needed to demolish some fences around a neighbour's garden on the other side of the road, and that would allow a direct downward route for the last bit.

So far so weird (I've never skied in real life) but then I either half woke up, or maybe I was still dreaming, and I thought, "that was a house I lived in ages ago which was in a hilly area - but how would I manage in this house where I've lived for the last twenty years?"

And although I could picture the surrounding hills, I couldn't remember what the street my house is in looks like, and I couldn't even picture the outside of the house. I thought this was a bit strange and I still knew the layout of the inside of my current house, so I deliberately imagined getting out of bed and walking downstairs to the front door, and going outside to see what the street and the house looked like, but once I went through the door everything was blank. I was panicking a bit at this point but then I either woke up (or maybe I dreamed I woke up) and then I could remember things normally.

Giant people were encased in a decaying factory. There were large gaping holes in the wall of the factory, allowing me to see that there was one giant per floor. I stood outside watching as one of them was devoured by a regular sized person wearing a rat mask. Or it may have been a rat, but with human arms and legs.

This was a very short scenario in a larger dream about Hawaii falling into the sea.

Not too weird... I was at a friends cabin in the light woods when squadrons of bad guys attacked, most likely selected by their master to invade for points in the game. So I flew around zapping lightning bolts at them. Odd things that I always find, the 'hand guns' always have a specific motion to function. In this case holding my index fingers together, pulling them back and apart and then pointing at the target was the most effective method.

I dreamed of encountering my eldest daughter in a small town in southern Colorado. She was sitting in the shade of a cottonwood tree singing Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Nowon a break from her job as a hair stylist. She had little white flowers in her hair (natural brunette color, not that horrid black she's been dyeing it the last dozen years or so), and barefoot and wearing a dress made of colorful silk scarves. She took me inside to meet her boss, the salon's owner. The owner told me I had to come to the talent competition that night, that my daughter was singing in it. I went to the talent show. My daughter sang Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit. It was awesome.

Why I dreamed of this and why those songs in particular, I do not know. I haven't seen my daughter since she broke her heel bone last summer. I do not know exactly where she is. I guess that was for the best when federal agents came looking for her a few weeks ago. Anyway, because I couldn't quite place the first song, I googled and found Judy Collins' version of Both Sides Now. It brought tears to my eyes, not for the lyrics so much as the emotions it drew, that I miss my daughter who was the light of my life until she pushed me away in her teenage years. *sniff*

I dreamed that John Lennon had faked his own death and was on the run from the law. I was a deputy and my partner and I were staking out his last known location. Gangsters were on the trail as well and had taken a black family hostage. I was able to make the collar and disarm the mobsters, taking all into custody.

I also found a child's activity book that was antisemitic. Women showed up in matching red skirts and a guy in a res shirt. He was a pimp apparently. My partner was now a woman and annoyed by the skirts. Then I woke up.

I was having a hard time getting to sleep last night, and was getting all frustrated about it when it occurred to me that it was a dream. I was dreaming about not being able to sleep. So I woke up and was like, "LOL" and went back to sleep to continue my stupid dream about insomnia.

Things that amuse me.
I had a Burningman dream, which is not that uncommon. For those that don't know Burningman is held on the playa, a dry lakebed with intense winds. I also recognized it was a dream which mean I decided to fly around. Apparently the wind is stronger than dream flying as I was blown into a few art piece including a 5 story high comfy chair, rolling it over and its couple occupants, luckily it was so comfy no one was hurt.

Additional amusing things, I knew what day it was (sunday) and the dream adjusted for what sunday means on the playa (people packing up and heading out before the temple burn).

Dreams are weird and cool.

I dunno if my dreams are more vivid in the morning or if it just feels that way because those are the ones I remember most upon waking up. Anywho...

I dreamed I was in Prague and the weather was suuuuper nice. I was like "wow, I gotta tell my mom. This is really nice weather for Prague!" as if I would have any idea.

Both.
As you sleep your REM/dreaming cycle increases in length and your deep sleep cycle decreases. The deep sleep cycle also dulls how much of previous dreams you can remember, so after a good night sleep you dream longer and are more likely to wake up before you hit deep sleep. (your also more likely to not deep sleep at all and bounce between the more active states).

Weird dream. I was out on the playa, a desert lake bed when a storm approached, everyone was excited till it formed a giant tornado heading for the camp. Because of it's rotation it was assumed that running to the right was the best course of action, and a huge group of people were finally convinced to run that way, the storm obviously saw and like many nebulousness forces was angry of this and let out balls of lightning that struck the group. After some clamoring our group reached the rocky cliffs of a Tibetan stronghold. Where we hid from the storm, after it passed it became clear that the earth was tired of our meddling and was consciously trying to exterminate us. smaller tornados formed spinning rocks around heading towards the sanctuary. After running to look out posts and warning people to safety the rock storm passed, collapsing a giant rock formation blocking a tunnel, which others ran to dig out. At that point I decided enough was enough, realizing the dream environment and decided to fly out to kick the storms ass. Leaping to the top of a giant 50 story statue and lookout post, I targeted the next storm and flew off to disrupt it before it could damage our post apocalyptic safe haven. Cutting through the icey clouds causing them to dissipate before they could reach land. As the seas rose inhabitants were building walls to shunt them around the makeshift city and I cut through the last of the clouds bringing blue skies as the dream ended.

Sometimes they are horrible dreams, other times epic.
I'm always amazed at the full sensory experience, I felt the icey clouds sting my skin with icey shards as I cut them to pieces, and the wind sap my breath before I blew it back and sapped its energy.

This morning in weird dream theater:

A lost episode of Columbo, the famous rumpled detective. He is just beginning his "one more thing" speech, explaining the murderer's culpability in a long convoluted chain of logic which the murderer gradually spaces out during. The spiel ends, "And so, a cigar." With Columbo offering him a pair of cigars wrapped in blue ribbon -- the traditional "It's a Boy!" kind.

"Huh?" quoth the murderer.

Columbo replies with a vicious suckerpunch, knocking him out cold.

I wake up.

I have a lot of weird sex dreams. They are usually very artsy, like it feels like I'm in some kind of Jackson Pollock's 3D painting flying around with vampires and having sex with them in the ceiling upside down like the baby from Trainspotting.

Default Re: Weird Dream(s)

I dreamed I lost my motorcycle. I was riding along a road, the sky was dark with clouds, but it was not raining where I was. Then I saw a flash flood coming down the roadway, so I pulled up an embankment beside the road to escape the flood. I walked down the embankment for a long way. As I walked it got darker and darker, the roadway turned into a long tunnel-like warehouse with dirt or something like dirt banked on each side. I kept looking on the dirt bank for where I parked the motorcycle, but I couldn't find it, it was just gone. I felt so lost and frustrated. As I awoke, still sort of half dreaming, I said to myself, "Wait a minute, my motorcycle was wrecked months ago." That brought me to fully awake rapidly.

I just need to tell everyone that about a week ago, I had a dream that I was at a restaurant with a bunch of people at this really long table, and I realized that Donald Trump was there, so I was telling him that he was a terrible person and he was doing terrible things, but he kept playing it off like it was friendly teasing, like we are always just playing the dozens like that.

It was horrible.
