I usually don't post about what I'm listening to, but you guys.
Zeal and Ardor
It's like black metal spirituals or something, which sounds gimmicky, but it is not. It makes perfect sense when you listen to it.
Blood in the River is probably a good sample, but I'm just listening to the full album on repeat right now. Each song is distinctive, but there's not a one I feel like skipping.

I bought it at Bandcamp which is totally your fault! It's pretty weird and I never would have thought about calling it metal.

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
The black metal part is mostly thematic, what with the Satanism, but there's some growly metal monster voice here and there, and some distorted guitar and speed drumming too. At about :30 in Blood in the River and about :45 on Come on Down the GRRRRRAAAAAA starts up in the background, for example.*
It's definitely not the main musical theme, though.
And thank you for reminding me. I hadn't even listened to it yet today!
* ETA that I am aware that I am a filthy casual of the metal diaspora, though.

I spent a couple hours last night watching Aurora videos--live/studio performances and interviews. I am a fan. This video has so much happy it's gross:

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
The new De La Soul is sounding really good so far.
Also, Young Thug's No, My Name is Jeffery is really good too:
But I can't stop listening to Frank Ocean. He is an unparalled genius. Everything he's released as Frank Ocean has been amazing, but Blond(e) is the best, and I feel sorry for anyone else releasing new music right now, because either one of those releases would be on repeat if I could block off a half hour or so of listening to something that wasn't Frank Ocean, but I am not ready to do that yet.
I love the (NSFW) video version of Nikes so hard.
In conclusion, I am listening to Frank Ocean.

People always rip on runway fashion, though, so I'm hoping it's just that.
I thought I read somewhere that he was actually designing a clothing line, but maybe it was supposed to be a joke?
He is modeling women's clothing for Calvin Klein right now, though, and looking really good. (And Frank Ocean is too? I guess I'm just really into Calvin Klein models right now.)

The new Queens of the Stone Age album Villains. Still not sure what my fave song on the album is ... maybe "Head Like a Haunted House", maybe "The Evil Has Landed".

Re: One of those 'Wat'cha Listenin' To?' threads.
The last album I bought was Bleached Welcome the Worms. I enjoy this album immensely. At 10 songs and 36 minutes, It's a pretty straightforward punk rock trio, but it's exactly what I need at the moment.
The other album that's on heavy rotation is Honeyblood's Babes Never Die. The first 3 songs, "Babes Never Die", "Ready for the Magic", and my favorite "Sea Hearts" make the album.

Thanks to Limoncello I've broken out Bel Canto's Birds of Passage. I've forgotten how much I love this song.
