Bushie gives commencement speech to OS-Who?

Though, the kicker is the following (bold emphasis mine, commentary below):
Quote:
"If he's coming to my town, I'm going to let him know he's not welcome here and that Oklahomans are not as bright as they think," said Laurie Keeley, 25, a protester from Tulsa.
Did she mean to call herself an idiot?

Although I'm not absolutely sure who she thinks "they" are, it really doesn't matter whether it's the Oklahomans or the Bushites.

I'd interpret it to mean that with the majority of Oklahoma voters casting their votes for Dumbya in the past two presidential elections (60%+ in 2000, 50%+ in 2004), either most Oklahomans are misinformed about their intelligence and think they are brighter than they truly are, or the Bushites thinking that the majority Oklahomans are smart voters for supporting the Dumbshit twice are badly mistaken. It seems that, in retrospect, a majority of the voters in Oklahoma are downright cretinous microcephalics. I suspect that is what she was trying to say.

Does that clarify it for you, TomJoe?

Yes. Though, if she had any brains herself ... she would have said something along those lines, no?

IOW, replace "Oklahomans" with "Bush supporters" or something of the sort.

Tragic as this story is, the man driving the van in which his family was killed by a collision with a train said "I never saw the train." He didn't see a fucking 140 ton yellow and black monster with a flashing 500 watt headlight on it or hear that noisy bastard with a 130 dB horn blowing bearing down on them? A large noisy object on TRAIN TRACKS? The guy should've put down his crack pipe and turned down the boomthumping stereo for a minute, then maybe his family would still be alive. In the almost a million miles that I have driven I have never even almost hit or been hit by a train. They're a little hard to miss.

Police stake out a dumpster and catch cash register thief. The perp in this case wasn't exactly endangering the job of any rocket scientists, he was dumping the cash registers he burglarized into the same business' dumpster almost every night.

Super mileage carburetor myth reignites, indeed. Mythbusters busted this one in Episode 53. The "200 mpg carburetor" built according to plans obtained via the internet actually got worse mileage than a stock carburetor, much worse.

Not exclusively an Oklahoma story, but it has an Oklahoma connection. The former director of the Oklahoma City Omniplex Science Museum and Planetarium convicted of artifact theft from the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Museum he founded, a facility located in the thriving intergalactic spaceport of Hutchinson, Kansas. He was sentenced to 3 years in Federal PMITA prison for each of 12 counts, ranging from theft of government property to wire and mail fraud to interstate transport of stolen goods to money laundering.

Tulsa Better Business Bureau is sponsoring Saturday's
ShredFest.

I wonder if Oliver North and Fawn Hall will be making an appearance.

What would Andy Griffith do?

He probably wouldn't arrest and fingerprint and detain two small boys for stealing a 50 cent newspaper.

Big news day for Oklahoma, starting with:

Man caught after 38 years on the run. Michael R. Smith escaped from a California prison back in 1968. He was found living in a camper behind a residence at the end of a bumpy road in a wooded area of Creek County (same county where I live). This made national news as well. He will be returned to California after an extradition hearing.

58 year old woman arrested for beating and stabbing her son with a garden shovel in an argument over a crucifix, an argument that began when the victim's grandmother told her daughter she could not hang a crucifix on the walls of her house.

The nicest people live around here.

Real Headline:

Prisoners will be on the run Saturday.

Several hundred prisoners at the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington, Oklahoma will run on the prison's track to raise money for their charity, Prisoners' Run Against Child Abuse. Run Simon, Run!

I've heard that many in the general prison population have children of their own and aren't kind to child abusers in prison.

Republican candidate for Governor of Oklahoma, State Senator James Williamson, says he's a rational conservative.

Whoa there, big fellow! Whoa! Didn't you go on to say:
Sen. WilliamsonI do have a base among the Christian community and I proudly say I'm a social conservative. My religious convictions are an important part of my life.
Nothing wrong with being religious, but I think Barry Goldwater, you ain't.

Williams says the private sector handles some problems better in many instances than government.
the Senator againAnd churches are very concerned about the soul, as well as just feeding them. And most all social problems start with the heart.
No, heart disease starts with the heart. Social problems start with a bad idea.

Oh, well, he'll probably get elected.
same guyTrial lawyers hate my guts.
I'm sure they do. In fact, I'm not so sure I don't and I don't even know you, Jimbo.

You mean it's not like on CSI?
KOTVAutopsy reports were expected Friday in 18-year-old Jarret Clark's death. Now the state medical examiners office says it will be about 12 weeks before they can determine an official cause of death.
Three months? Holy cow!

Two Durant (doo-rant) jailers suspended after inmates escape. Yeah, reducing staff with help keep the inmates in jail.

Another story out of Durant (doo-rant), Oklahoma: Man killed trying to load a four-wheeler ATV into a pickup truck by driving up a sheet of plywood. The 500 pound ATV landed on top of Leo Ott of Durant.
