Says the birther who would insist that Obama is not a "natural born citizen" even if he demonstrated that he was born in Hawai'i with birth certificate photocopies, circumcision records, hospital records, even more newspaper announcements and interviews with every person who knew him growing up. If only he would just release his "real" "official" birth certificate! If only! Then you would say, ah, that's well and good, but he's still not eligible to be president.

Coincidentally, I'm not eligible to be president according to such birthers. Not that I consider a run for president to be at all likely in my life, but I wouldn't let that natural born citizen question bother me if I was going to.

Trump's election is virtually assured at this point. Birferism is undoubtedly a consideration, seeing as how 38% of likely Republican primary voters would not consider voting for a candidate who categorically rejects birferism, but in all likelihood the fact that Trump has "a great relationship with the blacks" is dispositive. See, "the blacks" want to vote for an old white man but in 2008 the Republicans couldn't find anyone who's always had a "great relationship" with them.

Correction:

Only 38% of Republican primary voters say they're willing to support a candidate for President next year who firmly rejects the birther theory and those folks want Mitt Romney to be their nominee for President next year. With the other 62% of Republicans- 23% of whom say they are only willing to vote for a birther and 39% of whom are not sure- Donald Trump is cleaning up.

So that's 38% who would vote for a decided non-birther (those people like Mitt Romney, coincidentally). 23% will ONLY support a birther, and 39% aren't sure whether they would support a non-birther.
