We're going to ride the Durango-Silverton Railroad this summer. We lived out there for four years and never rode the train. We lived in Wyoming for four years and never went to Yellowstone. We plan to do that too, as well as drop by The Black Hills and Deadwood on our way back home.

It has pretty damn big wheels too. The 1929-1933 Type 41 Bugatti Royale as depicted had a supercharged 8 cylinder engine producing 275-300 bhp at 1800 rpm. Duesenberg's own car in the same era as the Type 41 Bugatti, in supercharged form like the Bugatti, produced 320 bhp at 4200 rpm, out of 420 cubic inch displacement, about 7 liters, just over half the 12.5 liter displacement of the Bugatti. The Duesenbergs, or Doozies (look up the etymology of "doozy") as they would come to be known, were reknowned at the time for producing twice as much power as comparable displacement engines.

If I'm not mistaken, it says Duesenberg Motors on the plate with Bugatti-King on the valve cover. Did Duesenberg build all of Bugatti's engines, or just some of them?

Of course, after producing that behemoth of an automobile, the Type 41, Bugatti went on to produce some rather high revving high output small displacement engines (120 bhp 2.2L and a 275 bph 4.9L for example) in much smaller and lighter cars and go on to dominate the pre-WWII road racing world.
