I cannot go to the meetings and I cannot donate money. The two are related. I shall have to look into some other means of affecting this.

Am I the only one who wouldn't be terribly bothered if Texas seceded?
I mean, I guess I know that they contribute to our economy and stuff, but besides Austin I can't think of too many reasons to want to keep it.

Hush puppies? No wonder the south is so "big boned."
Here, have a gravy milkshake with that.

Good gravy, the Canuckistanis eat poutine. Often in public. Hush puppies is small lumps.
Gravy milkshake, indeed. It ain't good gravy 'til it's got cheese and french fries floating in it.

TBH I don't have that much state pride.
I'm not originally from NC. Chapel Hill is pretty nice, as far as cities of its size go, I think. And NC has a good university system. But I'm not gonna get all up in arms about NC. I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and I'll admit that that city and state's also got a lot of crappy to answer for. At least it's a swing state, so only half of the population is crazy, tho.
I was mostly thinking of the political implications of Texas not electing so many conservatives to Congress, throwing their presidential electoral votes to the GOP every time, etc.
I think vm is just afraid of what the rest of the Texans would do when no longer constrained by the US Constitution, etc.
But seriously, dude, George W. Bush is Texas's fault. Now go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.

Re: More Texas textbook shenanigans
GWB is as much America's fault as it is Texas's. Would the world be better off if USA was nuked from orbit? Most likely, but Americans wouldn't.

GWB is also very much his rich, ass-covering family's fault, so I guess Connecticut gets it too. Seriously, this state snobbery bullshit is tedious as hell.

I dunno, I think its part of state pride and can be good natured and fun, on the other hand I do get tired of the rest of america thinking we are all inbred rednecks in ga.
