I was spending some time this week preparing for a 'bug bash" - where internal customers get exposure to what we're doing to provide feedback. This involved setting up several Raspberry Pis with a custom built kernel to support the hardware we're working with.

This was fine work for Friday afternoon because it was pretty mindless. But the annoying thing was that I need to hook each device up to a keyboard and monitor so I could run a few commands. The keyboard I'm using or that is just different enough from my usualy keyboard.

I don't know how many times I typed in "shitdown now".

(Just deny all permissions, disable it, and use a different messaging app--I recommend Signal.)

It's arguably not steampunk, and it's not a wheelchair, but it's definitely technology / engineering.

I present to you the steampunk wheelchair:

Comrade here brings something up worth talking about. Induction into cults and scams. Prior to the doomsday election a tweeter to whom I will link in a minute talked about the mechanics of 419 scams and how it relates to Trump voters. The monologue covers so much more than just that and even though the assumed electoral result did not come to pass, it's still playing out as described to a different degree and in a different form. QAnon, flat earthers, that whacko arsonist in California that JJ MacNab talks about are examples.

I lol'd.

Introducing the "goes to" operator in C++:
Code:
    int x = 10;
    while (x --> 0) // x goes to 0
    {
        printf("%d ", x);
    }
And the "slides down to" operator:
Code:
while (x --\
            \
             \
              \
               > 0)
     printf("%d ", x);

Where's that thread where Lisarea talks about the dingleberries who use her email address thinking it's theirs? Oh right, she does that in lots of threads. May as well post here.

After years of this guy using my email as a spam account, I got my revenge. He signed my email. Up for SiriusXM which also gives me the ability to beep his horn.
