Exactly! Nancy Drew should be a private detective, or have some fancy profession (art gallery owner? jeweler? museum curator?) with a private detecting sideline. OBVIOUSLY.

Can we take a second to talk about how Samantha Bee's new show is the :beesknees:?

So far I would say she's the funniest of political late night, beating out Bill Maher, John Oliver, The Nightly Show and The Daily Show.

The Daily Show hasn't been the funniest in a long while, even before Jon Stewart left. Trevor Noah is just ok, and there was an exodus of talent in the period before he took over - the aforementioned Bee, Jason Jones and Larry Wilmore. They presumably all poached some writers before they left, and the new class of correspondents is not amazing (the holdovers are clearly better).

Not to say that Last Week Tonight is not funny, and I find Oliver's show to often be informative about complicated issues. But it's not funnier than Full Frontal, which is better than I expected, even considering that Bee was among the best TDS correspondents. It makes me think The Daily Show was holding her back.

The comedy news is really my only way to digest the news. It's the only way to make it tolerable. So, I don't judge any of them too harshly since the recent shake up. I still get enough entertainment out of Daily and Nightly.

I really think Samantha deserves a four night a week half hour slot like where she came from. I'm loving - LOVING - the measly 21 minutes and change she's given and it is seriously not enough time for her to really shame everyone else in the business.

I can only watch the John Oliver Last Week via the youtubes. I enjoy that he does the same thing but is allowed to do a big focus piece that everyone wants to talk about the next day. His show, I think, works great as a one a week digest program.

Mondays at 10:30 on the TBS channel. I finally looked it up this Monday and set it for record.

But basically, if you're not watching Samantha Bee on Full Frontal, you are a sad humang and you deserve to better your life.

Not funny enough, or too depressing?

I find it both.

No, they're funny enough, it's just depressing how close to reality the comedy is.

Netflix offered a free month to lure me back... and it worked.

Caught up on Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and started on S1 of Orange is the new Black. All of them great. A good way to spend my hour commute to/from work.

We have binge-watched Love and The Lizzy Borden Chronicles. The former has Britta from Community and some nerd guy I can't identify. The latter has Christina Ricci and Clea Duvall.

Both highly recommend!

Lizzy Borden is fabulous, the costumes and Victorians are simply gorgeous. Ricci is great in the title role. Duball is great as her sister.

Their relationship really drives the plot tgroughout.

Second recommendation for Love, watched it all over 2 days and enjoyed it.

Cheers for Lizzy Borden, didn't know it existed but love the subject matter and love the Ricci too!

Dark Matter Sci Fi mix between Farscape and Firefly, not as psychotic as Farscape, not quite as organized as Firefly but still entertaining. Not sure if it's been mentioned before but basically 6 people plus the ship Android (my favorite character) awaken on a ship with no personal memories who discover they're infamous mercenaries in a world of corporate rule.
