How do you make the display bigger on the screen?

I was at my parents' house for Thanksgiving and everything is really small on their computer screen. I tried fooling around with a few things to make it bigger, but all I could do was make the text in the title bar bigger. I know that you can make everything bigger on screen, but I've done a few Google searches and I don't really know what the term is for what I'm looking for, so can someone here help?

Well, I'm not sure which operating system you're using, but it sounds like you need to change the screen resolution. This is simple:

Right click anywhere on your desktop.

Select "Properties".

Near the top, click the tab marked "Settings".

Somewhere near the lower left hand corner you should see a slider marked "Screen Resolution". Move the slider to the left for larger settings, to the right for smaller. Then click 'Apply" in the lower right hand corner. Windows will ask to confirm your choice, if you like it, click "yes", if not "click "no" and try a different setting.
