People on television that make smacking noises with their mouth while talking. Sorry, I'm quite interested in what you have to say, but I have to turn this off now.

Is that anything like sucking their teeth? That really gets on my nerves.
Also, excessive sniffing.
Yes Donald, I am looking at you.

I guess it's only really noticeable because of the microphone.
Another thing, did any of your teachers hand out exercises and lick their fingers to separate the sheets? Yes, go right ahead and drool on my paper you disgusting asshole.

I do avoid some foods because I've never tried them, and I'm a huge coward about trying new foods on my own effort or dime.

When my sister was little my mom pressured her and pressured her to try my grandma's lemon meringue pie, until she burst out "If I eat it I'll throw up!" This may be why, by the time I was born, my grandparents stopped having us over for dinner. I have never once tasted my Grandma O'Keefe's cooking, though I'm told it was fantastic and I have a few recipes.
My family is full of picky eaters and my mother never forced any of us to eat what we didn't want. I don't think of it as being in any way abnormal. But it is limiting because I have to choose restaurants based on their limited palates and my and my mother's problems with garlic. It can get very complicated.
And put me on the side of the onions should be cooked to death people. I don't do raw onions. Conversely, I don't like any other vegetable except artichokes cooked. It's purely textural with me, but you just can't eat artichokes raw so I have to deal. I like crunch with my veggies.

Re: Trivial things that annoy you
Oh my god, I too categorically refused my grandmother's famous lemon meringue pie! My father was FURIOUS. My grandmother seemed fine with it -- she was a doting grandma and her grandkids could do no wrong -- and tried to defend me, but I was sent to my room for my affront to guest and family, sins that were most definitely not forgiveable in my household.
I'm still not a fan of citrus desserts (sweet-tart is not a concept that works for me), but I deeply regret not having tried it when I had the chance. She died when I was still too young to notice or care about how food was made, and she was a true maestro of the baked good. I still remember her blueberry pie like it was yesterday. Nothing in my 35 years of life since has come close to comparing to it.

Re: Trivial things that annoy you
About a week ago, someone put up one of those big electronic signs in the middle of the street in front of this church parking lot that reads, sequentially, "(Arrow pointing to parking lot)" "No Thru Traffic" "Private Drive."
All of these things are true. However:
1. The arrow makes it seem, at first glance, as though they're directing you to turn there, like it's a detour or something. I just now saw a guy turn into there right by the sign and then turn around, and I suspect that's what happened.
2. This church parking lot has been there for probably at least 20 years. It hasn't changed in any way that I can see, so it's not some sort of new feature they feel like they need to tell us about now.
3. I have never noticed this being a problem, and I go past there all the time, but today was the first time I noticed someone apparently accidentally turning in there. I'm sure someone at some point has accidentally turned into that parking lot for some reason prior to the sign, but it seems unlikely that it's common. It's immediately after a relatively major intersection with a light, and it's pretty clear from looking at it that it's a church parking lot and not a street. It just doesn't seem like it's a major enough problem, if it's a problem at all, to merit getting the city to put a giant electronic sign out there telling everyone (ineffectively, see objection 1) not to turn into there.
It's not just me, either. I've talked to several people who are just as confused as I am.
I really don't want to perpetuate the thing where I am the big crank bothering city employees all the time and demanding explanations for things, because I do do that sometimes, but it's really bothering me trying to figure out what it's doing there.

Re: Trivial things that annoy you
The metal clippy thing on my mechanical pencil broke.
Now if I had a shirt with a pocket and a pocket protector in said pocket and I put the pencil in said pocket protector, it might fall out if I leaned over.
I like the pencil, so I'm going to have to look for a replacement metal clippy thing, just in case. Recently they've changed our office supplies to cheaper all plastic mechanical pencils (likely made by Filipino sweat shop labor).
You know what else annoys me, Filipino is a person from the Philippines. How the hell did they get Filipino from Philippines? I before e except F instead of Ph. Stupid English.

Oh, I know what to do generally. I'm just torn on the specifics.
Going out of business sale.
If you lived here, you'd be home now.
These two phones ... Are not belong ... To this store (This is a throwback to when there were payphones outside a nearby convenience store, and they put up a sparkly multicolored marquee to stop people coming in and complaining.)
LOL these guys

The Ph is English, the F is Spanish, which is correct considering the islands were named Las Islas Filipinas for Filipe II, King of Spain 1556-1598.
