At least frumpy stuff and orthopedic shoes are arguably appropriate middle aged lady attire.

Being the staid, matronly type, I prefer to wear a large, bejeweled tiara to connote divosity.

Oh. So I wrote a couple of LTTEs to local papers that had printed this plagiarized letter, and I just got a call from some guy on the staff at one of the papers who said they did a search of the guy's previous letters, and apparently, he does it all the time! He sounded pretty mad about it, too.

YAY!

The second paper printed my letter today outing the plagiarist guy, and they followed it with a note from the editor saying they called the guy, who claimed it was a "mistake" (their quotes), and that they'd searched through previous LTTEs he sent and found other instances of plagiarism.

And I almost feel a little guilty, because I'm thinking maybe the guy for some reason didn't know it was wrong to plagiarize.

Is there, like, any way that a grownup can not know that?

How's about a link to your LTTE? Or paste it for us to read or something.

Jeez.

I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. He also didn't know that what he was plagiarizing was dumber than dessicated dirt in the first place. It was a multi-disciplinary education for him, and you didn't even get to charge him a dime.

I was at Walmart this evening after work, and I heard someone laugh, and I knew the laugh. I just couldn't place it. So, I mosied around to the next aisle, and it took me a minute to recognize her, but it was a girl I lived next door to when we were both in high school.

She's not 17, she's 40. She doesn't have poofy 80's hair, it's long and straight and goes almost to her waist. There's also some gray in it. She had some health problems in her early 30's and now wears two hearing aids, and because of her thyroid, is 40 pounds overweight.

Her smile still goes all the way up to her eyes and she made me laugh when she reminded me how we'd sit on the front stoop listening to Journey.

we are going out for a walk saturday.

Awww, qb, that is so cool, especially that you recognized her laugh.

Plus that she doesn't have the poofy 80s hair.

An adorable, collarless Morris-looking cat came mewling up to my back patio a few minutes ago while I was standing out there watching a deer, and when (s)he went off to stalk the deer and I came back inside the apartment, (s)he came up to my door whining at me to pet her/him. I resisted, though, because although I'm allergic I really love cats, and if I gave in I wouldn't want to set her/him free.

Does anyone know how to check to see your FF member number? Someone told me a few months ago, but I forget who told me, or how to check it. I thought it had something to do with my profile, but I can't remember.

  • I'm in lust with a guy I don't even fancy. I just want to fuck his brains out.
  • My left shoulder hurts.
  • I'm in the mood for a cup of tea.
  • I haven't had sex in so long I think I've become re-virginised.
  • I still have two book proposals in the post and am still waiting on replies.
  • I've planned a party weekend with an internet friend in December. We get on like a house on fire on the phone and t'interwebs, and I'm really looking forward to it.
  • Wanking isn't as good as proper sex. I have discovered this.
  • That's about it, really.

I made some pies yesterday, but I accidentally used bread flour for the crusts, and I didn't have enough butter left to start over. WAH WAH WAH! They were OK anyway, but they could have been better.

I was so mad about that, I cannot tell you.

Also, the Marines keep calling for my Little Muffin. So they call yestiddy, and I ask if I can take a message (LM is working nights, so he was asleep), he says he's with the Marines and I say, "Oh, I can tell you now he's not interested," and the guy goes all snotty and says, "Hrmpph. Weeeellll, how would YOU know that, MA'AM?!?!" and I told him because I'm his mother and he made me a solemn promise he wouldn't join the military. So the guy says, "When is a good time to reach him?" I said, "Never. But if you want to waste your time, feel free to keep trying randomly."

Seriously. I understand they're going to keep calling no matter what, but this guy was a superdick about it, being nasty to that guy's poor dear old mother like that.

Bought 8 cds for 30 Euro today :songhead: :bassist:
7 of them reggae (ska, dub and dancehall included), 5 of them with music from Studio One (the Jamaican Motown you might say).

You know, it is funny you should mentioned cds, because I just found 100.00 in a winter coat, and I decided to blow it on cds. I'm going to put it in the bank tomorrow, then go to amazon and spend it.

My sister just called to play me this answering machine message she got from the Republican party. They say she is getting some kind of leadership award from them, and they need some information for the press release.

She does not have a common name, and there is only the one of her on Google.
