I loved Control. The weirdness and in-game lore is top notch, and the combat and other gameplay is challenging without being overly frustrating. It's one of the few games I've played enough to collect all the achievements (trophies to you PlayStation types; no idea what they call 'em on PC).
Lately I've been playing Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, also from 2019. It has problems, but there's lots to do. Moreover, any game set in an erstwhile lolbertarian paradise established on a fictional archipelago in the Pacific that turned completely to shit can't be all bad.
