“That’s just, like, your opinion man.” - The Dude.
Besides it’s pretty obvious the priest was a muslim terrorist and the “teargas” was a muslim bioweapons attack, that’s why they had to rush brave Trump into his Safety Cave just you wait, the “Covid” numbers will start going up. Trump later liberated the church, holding aloft the first bible ever held by Jesus. Duh, open your eyes!
"The White House press secretary has likened President Donald Trump's "resilience and determination" during the #GeorgeFloyd protests to Winston Churchill inspecting bomb damage during World War Two."
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley:
"We all committed our lives to the idea that is America--We will stay true to that oath and the American people."
I was actually wondering about this. Since Trump likes to use the US's military might as threat, how much would the military follow him down the path to fascism? At a glace, it looks like not very far.
One of my nephew's dipshit friends from Gerogia is convinced that the priest is lying if people check the bank accounts or some equally absurd nonsense.
I posted a couple of stories and was told that they were just stories what people said happened.
The politics RW part of the toy airplane forum I forum is absolutely not giving any ground on that. So crazy. It was a smoke bomb, period, and if there was anything else it was pepper paint balls which certainly are definitely not tear gas.
They won't give an inch. So weird. An article of faith. To think otherwise is sacrilege.

Not sure it’s fair to assume he had people teargassed for the sake of a photo op. Seems like he may well have planned the photo op for the sake of having people teargassed.

I'm happy to see so many high ranking military leaders expressing their distress with Dump's talk of sending active duty military to "dominate" citizens, calling him a threat to the constitution and the like. I think it comes from a very genuine belief in the importance of an apolitical military at all levels in the services. That idea is, or at least used to be, widely instilled and reinforced among the rank and file. When political discussions started to pop up, they would quickly be extinguished by leadership, with an admonishment of the importance of separating personal opinion from official duty. That was my experience.
I think the brass has potential to influence opinion.
Powell’s opposition to Trump isn’t exactly new as he didn’t vote for him in 2016. “The first thing that troubled me is the whole birthers movement,” Powell said. “Birthers movement had to do with the fact that the president of the United States, President Obama, was a black man. That was part of it.” Powell then said he was “deeply troubled” with the way Trump “was going around insulting everybody.” That “is dangerous for our democracy” and “dangerous for our country,” he added. “I think what we’re seeing now, the most massive protest movement I have ever seen in my life, I think this suggests that the country is getting wise to this, and we’re not going to put up with it anymore.”
Quote:
Even though his opposition to Trump isn’t new, Powell spoke up at a time when other military leaders, including former Defense Secretary James Mattis, have criticized the president. Powell said he is “proud” that other military leaders are speaking up against Trump partly because it illustrates how the president has “drifted away” from the Constitution.

The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery. The last thing I was going to do is “fall” for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!
I'll be more than willing to believe it was slippery. I'm not of an advanced age or anything but I've learned that I have to be careful where I put my feet even on slightly angled ground sometimes. And, honestly, watching that is exactly how I'd expect a mid seventies years old man to descend a ramp. Even that one. Also. There should have been a handrail on one side at the least.
According to the same reporter... it was sunny all day in West Point. So not so likely to be slippery (also it's common for there to be those sandpaper-y non-skid strips on ramps).
My parents are about 70, and they can both negotiate a ramp better than that. And you see the military guy, an older man also, walking like a normal person.
One explanation I'm seeing, which I find believable particularly given some photos from the same event of Trump's shoes, is that Trump is wearing lifts, which would make going down a ramp more difficult.
Either way, that tweet was an unhinged level of insecurity. He's also lying about things that we can plainly see with our own eyes - there's no running there. And given how his nickname for Biden is Sleepy Joe and his campaign is trying to promote shit about Biden having dementia, I'm not inclined to go easy on him.
And finally, there is, of course, an old Trump tweet for that:
The way President Obama runs down the stairs of Air Force 1, hopping & bobbing all the way, is so inelegant and unpresidential. Do not fall!
