Unmentionables didn't make ?! My mind is blowing.
Love the avatar, humpy77, although I'm surprised liv didn't ban you on the spot for those numbers in your handle.

The 77 makes me think maybe me and humpy are the same age. That'd be cool.

Re: Say Hi, Gracie (ie, Newbies Say Hello Thread)
was done as an act of penance for suggesting Unmentionables emotes were freaky.
I assume the 77 comments were referring to a historical ass whupping? Sorry to disappoint you ES but technically I'm humpy64 , consolation is that we might not be the same age but we do have the same name. All hail the Steves

The number thing springs from a thread I once started in which I confessed my prejudice against people with numbers in their usernames: Am I a Bigot?. I swear I've changed, though! I went to bigot rehab and I'm all better now.

is brilliant. You more than made up for any disparagement you heaped upon unmentionable.
Ensign Steve's name isn't really Steve though. That would be an odd name for a woman.
ETA: Oh and what does the 77 stand for then? Is that how many smilies you are going to make for us?

Ooooh, well my vote would be for #2 - I am intellectually inferior and inherently criminal
Please note, I have taken measures to assuage your fears

Oops, apologies to ES (but what about Mrs. Steve?)
I spent quite a few years spannering for a race team, 77 was our number for a few years. Don't hold you breath waiting for 77 smilies though, I'm not that fast

True, and you're doing an excellent job of fighting the lurk, too. Oh btw, I forgetted to tell you that you already helped people here before you registered.

Re: Say Hi, Gracie (ie, Newbies Say Hello Thread)
Hi : )
I think I already know a lot of you here from other secular forums so it's nice to see a lot of familiar faces.
I was a mod at IIDB before the diaspora, then a mod at the new Heathen Hub for a bit, and now I just want to be a regular person hanging on on forums and let someone else enforce the rules and deal with the drama for a while. This looked like a nice place to check out, so I'm off to wander around and see what's here.

Christina of the Mirabilis Christinas? I've read your posts on the proper running of non-profits and found them illuminating.
Welcome to FF.

Re: Say Hi, Gracie (ie, Newbies Say Hello Thread)
Hi -thanks. Yep that's me. I dropped the Mirabilis because no one ever got the meaning of it and assumed it was my last name. It was a bit of a mouthful as a nickname anyway.
My nonprofit background definitely got a workout during all of that, not that any of it mattered to the boys on the board. They like being clueless so that they can break all of the rules. Their delusions of superiority are awfully cute, though ; )

I quite liked it. It has a mellifluous flow. Then again, I'm a notorious sucker for Latin nicks of any sort, just in case that wasn't obvious.

It matters to people you don't even realize are reading, though, like me.

Re: Say Hi, Gracie (ie, Newbies Say Hello Thread)
Oh good - that was a hell of a lot of verbiage for no one to read. Rumor has it that I was put on the the 'ratchet back' hit list because they and their Executive Director got their little feelings hurt by being called incompetent. Clueless was more like it. You'd have to know what the rules are first before you can be incompetent at them.
They've got the dusty library atmosphere that they want now, so I'm sure they're happy and lots of us are happy because it gave us a reason to check out other Secular forums, virtually all of which are more fun and interesting than IIDB is. I'm glad I got pushed out of the nest.
