Buying UK book editions in the US?
So, the book, I Contain Multitudes by Ed Yong is out in the UK, and the UK edition is using one of my microscope photos as the source material for the cover design.
And here I am sitting in the US, trying to find the best way to purchase the book. (No, the publisher was not nice enough to send me one, but they paid me real money, so I'm not going to complain.)
I don't trust Amazon UK, because I already have a US Amazon account, and it keeps wanting to redirect me to the US store.
Has anyone in the US done this recently? Is there a trustworthy site that I can guarantee to buy the UK edition?
BTW, it's a good book, a great introduction to our current understanding of microbiomes.

Maybe one of our UK members can buy it and ship it to you?

I'm happy to do this if you can't find a solution.

Re: Buying UK book editions in the US?
I bookmarked a site or two which claim to ship UK editions to the US, but I don't know anything about them. It's also my birthday this month, so I might be jumping the gun a bit, as I expect someone might buy it for me.
But, I might take either of you up on the offer, if I can't wait, and don't trust the other book sites enough....

Re: Buying UK book editions in the US?
For what it's worth, I've bought books from Amazon UK on occasion, because I wanted the UK versions of the books, rather than the US versions. I never had any trouble; I just had to make sure I was logged into Amazon UK, not Amazon US.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: Buying UK book editions in the US?
Amazon UK works just fine. They'll link the account to the US one, but not stop you from buying anything except Kindle books from their store. I buy from them all the time. I just got a couple DVDs of the BBC Shakespeare, which are insanely expensive over here. Honestly, my brother became one of the biggest sellers on Ebay of British editions of Harry Potter just by drop-shipping them from Amazon UK. You should have no trouble at all.
