Uh, no. Your problem is that Trump has been very consistent and very clear when it comes to how he views women. Capito and other "GOP women" are deep in denial if they think otherwise.

Countdown to Trump declaring that the Florida shooting was because Obama failed to do his job of keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill:

White House refuses to release photo of Trump gun law repeal - BBC News

The White House released a photo of a different bill signing from the same day relating to environmental regulations

From the linkWhat's worth noting, however, is that the White House - with its reluctance to provide evidence of the bill-signing - is acknowledging this could be a damaging for them. Presidential strategists probably envision photographs of the event in countless Democratic campaign adverts.

The president reportedly told aides after Parkland that they have to "do something" in response. The White House's reluctance to own up to its only legislative action on firearms is another indication that, when it comes to gun control, they may feel the ground shifting beneath their feet.

Trump, in his typical lack of emotional intelligence, is seen smiling and giving thumbs up during pictures with victims and first responders.

While I expect that lack of tact from our current President, I saw some people complain about the other people smiling in the picture.

I don't blame them at all, first, they've been giving the honor of meeting the President, even if the office is being held by a horrible human being. Second, it's pretty clear they're being asked to pose for a picture, and most people smile when posing for a picture.

The reason you se all these great pictures of Obama reacting with compassion is not only because Obama was a good person, but because he gave access and discretion to his official photographer. Trump would prefer to pose.

Then there's the things he did quietly:

WTF?

https://www.facebook.com/RepBost/pos...767862084394:0

He's posing handing a gallon-sized Ziploc bag of (thoughts and) prayer cards to that Trimp guy. I won't even assume what it's about, but the most obvious thing makes zero sense at all.

Why? What is happening at all?

Actually, I can't help but suspect it's an incredibly cynical ploy: "In these trying times, we must remember to give our love and support to ... our beleaguered President."

I may be sick ...

Good to know our prayers have been delivered to republican Jesus.
After sorted for whiteness prayees will be sent a MAGA hat discount code and one lucky winner will have their prayers answered with an Ar-15 signed by our president.

I kind of enjoy the shamelessly, absurdly magical thinking of some religious people, like "hey, these prayers will prayer better if we write them on cards and hand them to people, because I guess sometimes Jesus just likes a little hand-written note, you know?" Of course those very same people are dismissive or hostile to other groups' methods, like rosary beads or prayer wheels - or what I grew up with, that the magic could work for anyone but it worked best if magic-imbued men used magic-imbued oil to do the magic. But yes, in the case of politicians it's nothing but cynicism. There are few true believers in that crowd, they just know how well faking it sells to the voters.

Personally, back when I was religious I really resented the ones who were more obviously faking, and I never understood why more religious people didn't push back against the clear condescension of basically being told "I know you'll vote for me no matter what I do if I just say 'Jesus' loudly and often enough..."
