You can hotlink to an individual smiley, but if you wish to snag one permanently for another forum's collection you have to check with me. We have a bunch of custom designed ones and work by artists who require explicit permission for use.

It would be to add them to the other forum's permanent collection. The reason I made the request is due to the fact that the administrator of the forum is unsatisfied with the smilie package that came with the board software and seeks to replace it. Hence my query to you. If you decide to allow it, I'll go through the smilie gallery to see which ones I think would be good to snag. If necessary, I am prepared to ask the permission of the smilie creators for their use. In case you are wondering where they will be used, this is the message board that I want to snag some of them for.

That's one of the nicest Ikonboards I've seen, MC. It makes sense y'all would be looking to upgrade the smiley gallery too; the default ones are pretty distinctly lame.

I love how the admin asked you if our thousands were good or not. A man after my own heart there. Feel free to tell him that I literally hand picked every single one, and with a few heartbreaking exceptions I can no longer reverse 'cause these bastards around here won't let go of the freaks, all 2,094 of them were judged for coolness and deemed worthy.

Having said that, RIPToad's questions are good ones. Before you start sifting through the hoard, I think it's important to know if you're going for a unified look or what. (Incidentally, you know those two Slayer of God said should remain? Well... They suck too. :giggle:

Just to get the ball rolling, check out the FF Style category. You see those 20 tan ones? They were made by deviantART's darkmoon3636 who is one of the greats. She made that package in a dozen colors specifically to match all kinds of skins, and asks only for credit somewhere on the site in return for use. You can check it out here. I think it's the best basic smiley package on the net.
