To tell the truth it was a bit of an accident that it has that gray background. I've fallen into the habit of developing my emotes with a that color background since it's the same color as deviantART's, then switching to transparent before finishing it up. I showed livius the work in progress and told her I was trying to figure out how to make it show up on FF white and she insisted on keeping the gray

Could you make it transparent but give a 2 pixel shadow to the rope to contrast with the piss?
