This was a dark week for our country, with the unfolding humanitarian crises in Puerto Rico and USVI, and the deadliest mass shooting in modern history in Las Vegas. Trump’s tin-ear and lack of empathy to these events were conspicuous in his ominous “calm before the storm” statement Thursday.
Amid the chaos, major stories broke on Kushner and Ivanka’s use of personal email accounts, all of which were surreptitiously moved to a Trump Organization server. Mueller’s Russia probe continued full-steam, and news of a meeting with Christopher Steele indicated the dossier is likely being used as a roadmap. As with every weekly list, this week rights and protections were taken away from women and marginalized communities.
Should things he did during the campaign be counted?
Because they left off a lot of stuff if so. Pussy grabbing and insulting veterans and their families, lying about giving to charity, encouraging violence, blood coming from wherever, insulting an opponent's wife's appearance, accusing his father of colluding in the assassination of JFK, reacting to mass shootings by congratulating yourself, etc.
Look at him! Leaning on a desk! That's FOR PAPERS, NOT your upper rear thighs! And uh... that other guy is eating in the Oval Office. Disgusting! And an APPLE of all things! Apples are un-American!
BIGLY PRESIDENTIAL. Such dignity! Tremendously respectful! Elect this man president!
Look at that ni... ahem, tyrannical thug, putting his feet up on the desk!
Wow. The black and white in the photo really makes you feel the weight of history and dignity. We were lucky such a presidential man was in the Oval Office on 9/11.
Anyway, there's just something about that Obama that doesn't seem presidential, while those other two seem very presidential for some reason.
(That photo of Obama with Axelrod eating an apple was in a blog post about Obama disrespecting the Oval Office linked to by the Fox News website.)
Lawmakers in Congress are still pushing to roll back the Jones Act, with Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) recently introducing legislation that would permanently exempt Puerto Rico from the shipping law.

[woman interviewer]: "You're not known to be a humble man...."
Trump: *interrupting her* "I think I actually am humble, I think I'm much more humble than you would understand."
Asked on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” who he talks with consistently about foreign policy, Trump responded, “I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things."

That's a fairly old quote, old enough that Billy West recorded it as Zapp Brannigan. With the shitstorm of news around this president*, I can see how it might be getting passed around again, though.

"The request from the DOJ demands that DreamHost hand over 1.3 million visitor IP addresses—in addition to contact information, e-mail content, and photos of thousands of people—in an effort to determine who simply visited the website," DreamHost said in a blog post. "That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution’s First Amendment. That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone’s mind."
"The judge has decided to allow a search of emails from anonymous users (without their identifying information) even though the government never showed that it had a good reason to look at those emails," Levy e-mailed in a statement.
"And he will allow the government to make its justifications under seal, based on a presumption (without any evidence) that secrecy is needed to protect the government’s investigation. In this way, the judge is denying Public Citizen and DreamHost the opportunity to explain why the government’s arguments for a search protocol or access to a particular record should be rejected."

I liked that he was willing to basically say 'fuck you' to any of his fans that remain Trump fans. That has to be a non-zero amount of people and that he's willing to ostracise them to make a point about how Trump is a fucking racist asswipe is pretty cool imo.
