We were going to drive the RV over toward Utah on I-80 tomorrow, but they are calling for 40+ mph winds with gusts to 65 on I-80, tomorrow.
Been there, done that.
Guess we're staying home tomorrow.

Two of the biggest fires in Colorado history--Cameron Peak and East Troublesome--are currently headed toward each other. They're about an hour from us, so it's not like we're going to have to evacuate or anything. Our greatest inconvenience is the smoke. My eyes are permanently red now and we can't dry laundry on the line. But Rocky Mountain National Park is totally closed, they totally evacuated Estes Park overnight, and a bunch of other cities are on pre-evacuation status.

It's supposed to start snowing pretty good tonight into Monday, so I'm hoping that gets things slowed down enough that firefighters can start to get a handle on it.

(On a stupid note, the nighttime temps are finally getting low enough that I can sleep again.)

Our trip over the hill was delayed a day, but we made it there and back. Use I-80 because the fires were so unpredictable. Had to fight 25-45 mph winds both directions.
Got back just in time for the first big freeze.
It's 48 f with a wind chill of 30 right now.
It looks like we are in for an interesting winter.

I just ran to the corner store (in shorts and t-shirt) to get some items, not knowing the temperature had dropped to 52

Oh well, I'll be back in Michigan in about a month so I better get used to it.

Well, the wind chill isn't so bad, now, but today's high was 16 f and low tonight will be around -1 f
Needless to say, we have no outdoor activities planned for the day.

Snow and freezing rain. Which froze to the leaves. With the weight of the ice, the leaves are falling off the trees onto the snow-covered cars, and any cars parked under a tree are buried in snow and frozen leaves.

The weather is really autumn. It is cold and damp outside the window. Because of this, the inside is also cold and damp, although heating is on.

The only thing that makes me happy is that I don't have to go outside because I work remotely. I would be depressed if I had to get to work every day in such weather. Due to the fact that now there is a lockdown, the rest outside the house is also over, now I only go to the store and that's it.

But even looking out the window is unpleasant, very gloomy. I'm already looking forward to winter, I hope it will be snowy this year.

We're getting down into the negatives (F) for the past few days, down to like -15F tomorrow. This isn't normally unusual but for the fact that it was in the 70s or so last week, so we're not acclimated. I only took the fan down from the bedroom window a couple days ago.

I am sleeping better, though, so that's good.

The High, tomorrow will be around -5 f. and low tomorrow night is predicted to be around -17 We might get back up to Freezing by Wednesday or Thursday.
The good news: While it's been snowing pretty much all week, the wind blows almost all the time, from one direction or another, so the snow doesn't seem to pile up anywhere.
