Not a no-no. This is a freethought forum. Anything goes (within legal boundaries) and people are free to put your opinions or avatar on ignore. But the Internet is no different from the offline world in many respects. And somebody that walks into a close-knit community of people they've never met before wearing a bondage porn t-shirt wouldn't make a fantastic impression.

Have you paused for a moment to consider that, in any arbitrary collection of people you've never met there may be, say, rape victims who find such images incredibly disburbing? I've got not problem with people indulging in whatever sexual fantasies between consenting adults that they may enjoy, even hinting at it humorously or discussing it discretely among good friends. But using a bondage porn avatar in your first encounter with a group of strangers is pretty tasteless, IMO.

Also, some people here access from work and we generally have enough mutual consideration to put spoiler tags around stuff that could embarrass someone at the office, or "NSFW" in the title of a thread that might not be work-safe. But ignoring the avatar is a case of closing the barn door after the horse has bolted when you scroll past a bondage porn avatar you weren't expecting just as your boss walks by.
