Register Register Register for School
I signed up for my fall classes yesterday. It will be my first time back in the (university) classroom in about five years. All my (university) education I got while I was in the service was done through distance learning. University is parenthetical there, because I got plenty of (military) education in (military) classrooms while I was in, obviously.
I'll be taking two computer science classes (that's my major), as well as calculus and early United States history.
Um. That's it!

Re: Register Register Register for School
Um... I forget? I need to look in the catalog for the full descriptions.
Some kind of logic class that I really hope is about machine language. And some sort of "problem-solving" class that's taught in Java. I got to skip past intros to algorithms, oop, and data structures, cuz I already took those.

Ah, logic. That may be more theoretical than you are thinking.
Hmm the "problem-solving" is the best part of CS. That's what it is all about.

I already took intro to logic way back before computers were invented, and I enjoyed it very much. It was probably my favorite philosophy class ever. You think it'll be like that? Fun!

Let em recognize from Long Beach to Rosecrans
Bumpin and grindin like a slow jam
It's west side so you know the row won't bow down to no man
Say what you say
But give me that bomb beat from Dre
Let me serenade the streets of L.A.
From Oakland to Sacktown
The Bay Area and back down
Cali is where they put they mack down
Give me love!
Congratulations! Don't forget to bring a shiny red apple for teacher on your first day. It's how all the kids these days roll.

My mom was in college ...
... for about 20 years, for which Rogers State University gave her a more or less honorary Associates Degree in Liberal Studies. She never took more than a couple classes at a time and only what interested her, not on a degree track. Boy, did that pay off or what?
You're going to get all edumacated and dump me like inland wave is going to when she gets her degree next year.

I'm getting tricorder readings that suggest you'll need to change character.

A degree in "Liberal Studies"? Were they trying to insult her, or sumpin'? I mean...it is OK, isn't it?
Good luck, Ensign. I shall be interested in how your 'early Amurikin herstory' class goes. CS?....meh.

Re: Register Register Register for School
I found the description for my logic course. The full name is "Computer Logic Design I".
Quote:
Basic topics in combinational and sequential switching circuits with applications to the design of digital devices. Laboratory projects with Small Scale Integration (SSI) implementations using Computer Aided Design (CAD).
|
Sounds ... fun?
