Let me introduce you to Moo. I don't think I've been on here since we got her. She briefly had a sister but she was hit by a car  RIP Lydia aka Smol.
But this is Miggy. She was handed in by her previous owners to the pound because they couldn't take her when they moved. Yah, shitty, but I don't know the circumstances. But I'm glad they did. She's needy, bitey, happy, annoying, and the sweetest kitty. We call her Moo.

Jake the Wonder Cat has died and I'm so sad. He was around 20 years old (we think) and in really poor health, so it wasn't a surprise at all, but it still hurts. Jake was rigorist's kitty, and rigorist took such good care of him when he was dying.

I forgot to update you guys about this, but yesterday, I heard someone messing around in the bathroom, so I went to check on that, and it was Zsa Zsa who had opened up the toilet lid and was drinking out of it.
(I had found the lid open a couple times recently and had been meaning to call a "family meeting," but hadn't gotten around to it.)
I said. "Hey, now. Get out of there," and she looked a little confused, then led me out to show me the empty water bowl to demonstrate that she just didn't want to bother me with something she could manage on her own.
Sure, I'm repulsed, but mostly, I'm proud of the way she is perpetually disproving that old dogs new tricks thing. Because it seems like it's something new every day. She really is the smartest dog I've ever known.

Is it too late to teach our Gizmo to awoo? How do you go about that? People keep posing awoo videos to r/chihuahua, and I'm super jelly.
When we first got her, she was eerily silent, to the point that our housemate thought he had lost her when we went on vacation. Slowly, as she got more comfortable, she started chuffing at us to get our attention. Eventually her big sister Ripley taught her to BARK!BARK!BARK!BARK!BARK! at UPS-type guys. We even play-growl at each other when we roughhouse, she goes "grrr" and I go "grrr" and then she says "GRRR!" and I say "GRRR!" but it's all in fun with lots of licks and tail-wags.
The point of all that is that she has proved herself capable of being a later-in-life learner when it comes to how to make doggie sounds. So how do we get her singing? Just sing at her a bunch and hope she catches on?
