I would shout "TOO SOON" but you made me laugh. I mean, at this point, gallows humour about the Spectre of 2016 is all we have, right.

Wham was the worst band I ever saw. They opened for The Cars, which was also the most fights I've seen at a concert. WTF

It's mildly amusing for me as a white Brit to observe (wryly of course) white Australians (stereotype: uncultured, wiped out their aboriginal natives) arguing with white Americans (stereotype: do I need to point this out) about racism.

Then again, white Brit ... (stereotype: 20th century: football hooligans; now: Nigel Farage). We had to go to other countries to wipe out their natives.

Touché.
But even by British standards, that was quite a while ago.
"Britons think 100 miles is a long way. Americans think 100 years is a long time."
Plus, it was them other guys what done it, them Angles and Jutes and Danes.
* JoeP reckons he has enough Norman and Scots and Shetland ancestors to pick any side of any given fence
Plus, eradication or marginalisation of languages :!=: killing most of the people. Have you tried learning Welsh! All that mutation? They naturally chose to speak English.

The 1800s aren't that long ago.

Most of the Native American population decline was due to disease, but point taken.

But I also rather doubt that pushing the Celtic people into the more marginal areas of the islands and oppressing them was without consequences for the share of the population. I also believe there were various events that did involve violence towards those groups.

I dropped an entire bag of sumac on the floor last night, so I went to order some more, and as I was typing in the URL for Penzeys, Google suggested "Penzeys Trump letter," so of course, I went ahead and read about that first.

Then I went back and ordered that sumac plus like six other things.
