I heartily endorse this event or product
I am pretty sure we had some old product recommendation thrad, but I am too stupid to find it, so I am making a new one.
This is my first one:
The Best Pen | The Wirecutter
It took me a little while, because I wasn't making no special trip or anything, but I did end up finding a couple different models at Safeway.
Now, normally, I have no truck with ball point pens. They are crap. They are janky and smelly and the ink is made from anal leakage.
When I have to use a ball point pen, I do that whole "OJ trying on a glove" thing, just UGH UGH THIS ISN'T WORKING I CAN'T OW. Which happens sometimes because Matlock, giant ridiculous craphound that he is, leaves those stupid Bic Stic pens everywhere like droppings.
Unfortunately, though, they only had the retractables in ballpoint, and the only rollerball was capped, which, UGH do I look like Houdini, so I got the ballpoints. They only had fat ones, too. 1mm, which I usually don't like, but I really wanted to try it anyway.
At first, I was kind of meh they're OK, but then yesterday, I had to write a bunch of stuff down for various reasons, and that's when it really hit me what a sweet assed pen this is. The lines are not nearly as giant as you'd expect from a 1mm tip, the ink is nice and smooth and not gloopy, and it dries almost instantly so it doesn't smear.
So from now on, my probably six year old Pilot Dr. Grip is going to retire to the kitchen, and this is going to be my new official walking around pen.

That looks p. sweet, however I will be purchasing a 0.5 mm point because I am not a farmer.

I'm too mean to pay that much for a ball pen, so I shall stick with my crappy pens, tyvm.

Target's Threshold Performance Sheets. 400tc, 100% cotton, deep pockets with two rows of elastic. Not luxury, but certainly excellent everyday quality. I got a set of ticking stripe in KING for $30.00 yo!!! (on clearance at the store), best bargain all year.
Threshold™ Performance Sheet Set - Pattern : Target
I don't remember my set being sateen (I prefer percale), but if they are that's okay because $30!!!

I [Thanks] that because I respect your dedication to finding a solution that works for you. But I can't in good conscience agree with your findings. Rollerballs have given me nothing but heartache and disappointment whenever I use one. It's been that way all my life and it still saddens me to this day.

If you're looking for a small multi-rotor, this one is excellent and good value at less than $50 from HobbyKing. That price includes the Spektrum compatible receiver, two batteries and a USB battery charger.
The SD card adapter in the photo is for scale.

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
I'll keep using my skanky cheap BIC ballpoint pens and my hundreds of dollars 1000 thread count Kyrgyzstan cotton sheets, thank you very much, though not at the same time because I might get anal leakage on my silky smooth sheets.
Edit: Oh, and Uni-Ball™ is a brand name, not a description. I've been using them since about 1887.

Tissues with lotion are well worth the extra few cents if you get a leaky schnozz. My favorite is Puffs Plus with Aloe Vera.

The rigid, stamped steel drain strainers are fantastic. You will never get a clogged drain unless you're doing something really weird in your sink or bathtub.

To thank your butt for finally getting the cute possum pic uploaded, I am sharing with you a very special notebook system. Oh yeah. It's a system. Behold Circa. Oh sure, you can get the notebooks all put together and good to go. But wait, you say. I don't want to have to buy proprietary refills every time I run out of paper because I run out of paper all the time because most of the stuff I write is inane and/or self-incriminating so I destroy it at the end of business each day. FINE PEA GOD. Just get the Circa hole puncher and put all those piles of scribbed-on-one-side scratch paper to work. What's that? You don't even want to buy the notebook to fill with your own coffee stained pages? So just buy the discs and make your own notebook covers and backs out of doll heads or whatever. You can carve "Twinkle aqua drops jumped into your life&file" on the cover with a soldering gun.

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
This is the best effing deal in the whole wide world for pens, Wirecutter's recommendations of bourgeois pointy-headed intellectual pens notwithstanding.
You get supercoolkid colors, like purple and pink and bright blue. And brown. BROWN!
Plus all the normie colors like the standard blues and blacks and reds.
You get to see and shop with the fucked-up slice-of-bizarro-humanity that is the clientele of teh local Walmart.
All for less than $2. That's not even 200 PENnies. FTW MOFOS

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
Brown?! That is crazy and awesome.
I'm not a pen fetishist (bey claims to be, but given the ratio of quantity to quality in his collection I think he's more a pen hoarder than any kind of actual connoisseur), but I received as a graduation gift one of these seven-year pens. It's only been one year, but so far it's still going strong. Nicest pen I've owned to date.

This whole subject of pens came up again today, at work of all places.
Again the pen that writes BROWN totally pwn'd all the other color pens.

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
My iMac hard drive crashed. NO BACKUP!!! I bought Disk Warrior for $99 and was able to get my photos out of data purgatory. They were all I really wanted. I could have recovered more crap but didn't feel the need.
The Apple disk utility repairs did nothing, but DW got past a mechanical issue (speed was slow) and a borked directory. Happy to have my pics back!

Word to that. I don't even get why brown pens aren't more of a thing. Brown ink should be right up there with black as a default color, but NO. You have to go to specialty frufru pen shoppes and stuff to get a brown writing pen.
I heartily endorse brown ink pens. They are as good as black, and better than red or blue!

I haven't been in a Walmart in at least fifteen years, and I'm not going to go in now to find out, but if you mean you have to buy a big multi-color pack to get one brown one, that doesn't count. I mean like when you buy a single pen or a multi-pack of the same color. A regular writing pen.

Fair enough. Maybe your secret santa will visit the evil Walmart, buy a bunch of pen packs at under $2 each, then take out the brown ones to send to you and give away all the other colors to the deserving poors.

If you can buy a brown ballpoint pen at Walmart, I'll buy you a chili-smothered burrito at the Walmart snack bar.

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
I have two Parker ballpoint retractable pens that need new refills.
So I found Amazon were selling a two-pack of brown ink refills made by Monteverde, and ordered them a few days ago. They arrived today, but I've not tried them yet.
The attached pic is of the pink option, but note the available colours bar down the left hand edge of the packet. Mine has the 'brown' option (which naturally is the top one) ticked.

Re: I heartily endorse this event or product
I heartily endorse these exceptionally great spatulae: Kuhn Rikon SoftEdge Slotted 12-Inch Spatula , Kuhn Rikon SoftEdge Teppanyaki , Kuhn Rikon SoftEdge Flexi Turner. I have long sought a spatula with sufficient rigidity for turning and scraping combined with a keen edge for sliding under things. Since I'm paranoid about scuffing my new cookware, I decided I also needed some sort of protective edging.
These guys cover all the bases flawlessly. I have thrown out every other spatula I had (except for the all-rubber varieties one uses with batter), including a couple I'd had since just after college. None can hold a candle to the Kuhn Rikons.
