the point is that you waffled in a similar way in that game and you were town.
Rereading that thread was helpful in other ways. I'm rethinking several interactions in this game.

I don't think it was absurd. When people say that their vote is a pressure vote, that tells the target that the suspicion is at best tenuous. If the target is scum, knowing the vote is tenuous could be pretty damn helpful in deciding how to react.

Such strong language from a lady. I didn't see that post when I started my post. One thing that I am going to have to get used to on this site, is that it does not do a pause and show you all of the posts that were posted while you were trying to post.

The question is absurd because it, and the answer, are so obvious already
But on reflection I know that's often what you do ... instruction by stating the obvious.
Crumb's vote on dl (which he hasn't removed ... and my placing this point in brackets doesn't diminish it) was clearly not a pressure vote was it? Can you really read Crumb's dl vote post and say that it was?

When you are finished writing, if you select "preview post" you will see your post formatted and any sneaky in between posters will be in reverse order as you scroll down.

It looked like a vote made under a lot of confusion and conflict, mostly. Your post jumped out at me because I've been internally griping at all the "pressure vote" comments that keep popping up.
I dunno. The whole frag/dl/crumb interaction is bugging me.

What's bugging me is how many quiet people we have. We have a huge discussion going and far too many people are being quiet about it.

Fair 'nuff, but at least I'm trying to go after someone hard. You seem to have been content to make a no-more-convincing-than-mine case on Megatron, vote, and leave it at that. How about you actually grill your suspect a bit, make him squirm and see if he starts flailing?
I mean, it's particularly ironic that you're not in active pursuit since you yourself are " dreading the prospect of another quiet and inactive town"

I missed this.
You characterized this post as anti-town. It didn't strike me so much as anti-town as a very fluffy very soft-fos. Which pings, but he looked incredibly scummy to me in the drew game, too.
Do you remember your read of him during the Drew mid-game?

unvote vote Crumb
Crumb voted Pan earlier ... I still think Pan's posts were too few and lacked real substance while trying to harp back to the familiar "jerome plays badly, let's lynch him" strategy ... So, what do I make of the possibility that they're both scum? Crumb's rationale for his vote on Pan amounted to a pressure vote, so a way to appear useful town, distance himself from a scum team mate and a vote easily withdrawn, which it was. I will go back and read those posts again, though ... and I'm interested to know what others think about Pan, and about this scenario?
|
aaah...found this, too. Is this the post you meant?
Interesting.

Re: Ghost in the Shell Mafia
I'm a bit concerned that the ratz crew and the FF old-timers might be interpreting stuff differently from each other again. That didn't work out well for town last game, how about we make a more conscious effort to spell out our suspicions, without assuming common mafia customs?

that's been one of my concerns, too. It's why I'd like Elouise to recall her thoughts about Pan last game.
What are your thoughts of the Crumb bandwagon, besides concern about that it's started by ratz players?

Riiight. Was kinda waiting for Megs to show up and respond to my "leave it at that post". Since he hasn't shown up, I didn't see the point in grilling him.
Still, you've got a point.
frag, I noticed that you're definitely more prominent now than you were in the last game. Especially harping on a single point and pounding it over and over again. It kinda looks active, but really only one point.
So is this overcompensation for being a radar-ducking scum last time around or can someone who has played with frag tell me if this is version of town aggression.

Re: Ghost in the Shell Mafia
ravenscape, I'm not especially convinced Crumb is that scummy. The having it both ways waffle pings me a little, and I can see why divagreen and Elouise didn't like it, so I've no reason to think their motives are anything other than town. I could interpret you as white-knighting him a little. Probably you're just trying to stop town going down the wrong track, but I generally think it's more useful to let other players go where their suspicions taking them unless it seems to be getting close to an actual misguided lynch.

Well yeah. Best to place lots of pressure where I currently see things that are the scummiest. When other scummy stuff comes up I'll do the same to whoever is involved. Actually, I did a bit of that with bey, or did you not notice?
BTW I see you picked up a "harping" meme from Crumb. Any harping I did was in response to DL, so please don't lay that all on me. Two-to-tango, etc.
