Re: Miscellany
Was there a test to take? I didn't see one.
In times past I've gotten either INTP or INTJ depending on what side of the bed I got up on. So that's either Picard or Worf. Picadoworf, that describes me to a tee.

Do we have any extroverted people here? lol
I think I'm some kind of INT but I can't be bothered to take one of those long-ass quizzes, aside from the fact that I think Meyers-Briggs is too dichotomous. Like, I'm supposed to be organized? lol

I kind of think the results, especially from internet tests, are sorta crap; but I do see some value in them in that they can help people be a little more conscientous about when they're projecting. In particular, extroverts. If there were any here, I guess we could ask them about that, but I don't think there are.
The first time I saw one of these things was when they made my dad and all his nerdassed coworkers do it for a team building exercise or something, and he said it really did help him understand that not everyone thought the same way he did, or was motivated by the same things.
So I do think it's good for that.

Hmm. I would agree that many of the questions are too binary, and that I would never actually answer either "yes" or "no" to them in real life. That is, for an awful lot the questions, my actual answer would be either "maybe" or "it depends."
But I don't find the results too surprising or disagreeable.

Re: Miscellany
Qapla' TLR!
INTP: ARCHITECT Apparently I share a basic personality configuration with Worf.
"Good careers for your type include being the Ambassador to Qo'noS, venture capitalist, legal mediator, musician, investigator, and strategic planner."
Ironic then I gave up trying to be a full-time musician 20 years ago for the reason that it wasn't a good career...my best week I think I made, what, $80?
I should have looked into that ambassador gig then.

Re: Miscellany
Add the last two numbers of the year you were born to the age you will be on your birthday this year and tell me what you get
I got this from a forwarded email and it's all about 11 (actually it works always, but this year it seems more freaky)!

Re: Miscellany
48?
Seems gimicky, though, because every unit you add to the birth year, you take away from the age.
I'll be 34 and I was born in 77. Someone born in 76 will be 35, and someone born in 78 will be 33. We all get 48.
