What is happening in California is that real estate developers continue to build McMansions in dumbassed places which should never have seen any kind of human habitation. Erosion is forever, but it speeds up considerably with torrential rains....which are NOT a new thing in southern California.

Had the type of torrential downpour last night that made me stare at it in awe for a few minutes. And it lasted a lot longer than a few minutes. Overnight, from what I heard every couple hours upon waking, it changed to gusty winds carrying more dump trucks of water. There's a break now, but more of this shit is coming today, I think.
I dunno if this ends the drought, or just washes us all away so we stop using all the water.

Today it was sunny and 'warm'.
I cleaned out the chicken chalet and continued with my pruning of the grapes and jasmine.
If I can finish the grapes in the next day or so, I can move on to the roses. I think I've still plenty of latitude, despite being past President's Day, given that I have yet to see any forsythia in bloom, so I'm good to go.
I got my first narcissus today...tete-a-tete miniature daffodils. Early bulbs.

Crocii are blooming. It's February in south Jersey. This is weird. Bulb foliage has been emerging for about two weeks now. Yesterday I saw the cherries on the Delaware side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge bloomed in the middle of winter again.
