I, on the other hand, have about 20-30 shows I MUST watch all seven or ten or whatever seasons of or be inescapably behind the times and clueless on contemporary culture, but they are just waiting as I have no time to watch them.
Plus, Buffy the Vampire Slayer turns 20 next week and it must be commemorated somehow.
Police and immigration / customs reality shows are among my favourite daytime TV shows. (Australia has some good ones, seem to be syndicated worldwide. Finland's versions probably not so widely available. Not sure I would like America's ... a new low in dystopian reality?)
GODDAMMIT I GOT JURY DUTY AGAIN. Like clockwork, every 18 months. I know people who were born and raised in this county (and who are eligible) who have never been called.
Wow! I've been summoned a bunch of times, but always in California, never in Georgia. You must have got all my pulls. I've only been summoned one time that I couldn't get out of, and my group was dismissed before we made it past the first check-in desk.
But! Speaking of which! My FWP is that bey is a Jury Duty right now, so I have to take a half-day from work because someone needs to be here to protect the housekeeper from the fearsome purse dogs.
I was going to ask if she had a green card. But I realized that would be both racist and sexist in its assumptions. So I didn't ask. Instead I put it inside a spoiler because hidden racist and sexist assumptions are, of course, not really racist or sexist.

This just in: Glasses are damned expensive. I finally went to get my eyes examined, after years of not being in financial dire straits and not being able to. The examine, not surprisingly, wasn't too bad, coming in just under $200 dollars. This included a fancy new screening thing that takes high res fottergraphs of your retina. (To avoid the indexing of googles: diabetes is evident even in your eyebowls.) Most of that two bills was covered under the VSP - everything except the fancy new thingybob.
Glasses, on the other hand, holy mother of pearle. Frames are still about the same price they've always been. It's the lenses though, right. Now, the last time I boughten my own glasses, everything came in the $300 dollar range - probably closer to tree-fiddy. Now that I am Officially Getting Older, the age(s) at which one must start using multifocal lenses on their corrective lenses, that's where shit really got fucking expensive.
The whole bill for everything; examination, frames and lenses, tipped just over a grand in united states currency dollars. Thankfully for me the VSP gobbled up almost 75% of that.
All that money and I still have to wait two fucking weeks before I can wear them, trip over my feet countless times before I get used to them.
