Is disobey simply another large-language model bot?
"But the shiny veneer wore through fast. Like all language models, Galactica is a mindless bot that cannot tell fact from fiction."
“In all cases, it was wrong or biased but sounded right and authoritative. I think it’s dangerous.”
Why Meta’s latest large language model survived only three days online

Could be.
Except for "sound[ing] right and authoritative". Our little trollette hasn't quite managed that.

Very interesting, but nothing to do with disobey's Not-at-all-artificial Ignorance, I think.

I didn't understand what the fuck the topic title meant when I first saw it. Then I remember cultsmasher is going by disobey now. If you had used "Cultsmasher" in the thread title it would be way better.

Meta’s misstep—and its hubris—show once again that Big Tech has a blind spot about the severe limitations of large language models. There is a large body of research that highlights the flaws of this technology, including its tendencies to reproduce prejudice and assert falsehoods as facts.

It's super cool, and ironic, that an AI suffers from the exact same problem that people do.

I dunno, but I'd be really impressed if they could make an old gay nazi bot so on point

Really, man. That'd be some good shit. The whole saga of toolspooler hopping on a motorcycle with his "buddy," sucking and fucking their way along the highways and byways from Michigan to Florida, taking advantage of the latter state's abundant public resources for lazy whites, getting red-pilled via 60 Minutes and welfare internet access . . . orders of magnitude better than the Microsoft bot Twitter turned into a nazi in a couple of hours back in 2016 or so.

“If you’re not careful, you risk automating the exact same biases these programs are supposed to eliminate,” says Kristian Lum, the lead statistician at the San Francisco-based, non-profit Human Rights Data Analysis Group (HRDAG). Last year, Lum and a co-author showed that PredPol, a program for police departments that predicts hotspots where future crime might occur, could potentially get stuck in a feedback loop of over-policing majority black and brown neighbourhoods. The program was “learning” from previous crime reports. For Samuel Sinyangwe, a justice activist and policy researcher, this kind of approach is “especially nefarious” because police can say: “We’re not being biased, we’re just doing what the math tells us.” And the public perception might be that the algorithms are impartial.

"The program was “learning” from previous crime reports."
Well goddamn, how hard can it be to program an AI to not learn from the past?
Chop chop people. let's get an AI to be just as stupid as people. These smart ones are making us look bad.

Re: Is disobey simply another large-language model bot?
As for cultsmasher, you fucking idiots really need to stop responding, and stop making threads about him.
That is NOT the way to deal with Nazi loving shitposters. It's not even close to the right way.
