Yes, that is Gilda. She's an old friend of Rainbow Dash from days past. If you can find the youtube of it, Griffon the Brush Off is one of the great episodes from season 1.

I love my sets. Griffons are a kinda unrecognized other in Equestria. Fanfic folks have a field day with that. There are a few that pop up and are named.

I think liv would love Gustav la Grand, griffon and patisserier, from MMMMystery on the Friendship Express.

And there was much rejoicing!

So, when wave five came out with The Great and Powerful Trixie and Lyra I knew I was going to have to get them. I skirted the pre-orders because often they will just stuff a pony in the box, not send you the one you ordered. So I waited. Around 8/4 they went up on Hasbro's toy shop. I was waiting to get them because I am an idiot and they sold out! I found people reselling them for like triple the cost and I wasn't going to do that. I can buy a $4 pony to indulge my passion but no more. I gave up hope of ever having them.

So, Sunday Contra and I made a Target run to load up on cheap-o school supplies for his classes. Our store is terrible about stocking pony merch, and all summer there has been nothing new. We go by the Canterlot section just to see... BAM! There was one and only one of each and I snapped them all up! Now I need to design a hat and cape for TG&PT.

I also grabbed Sunny Ray, because I freaking love her design and name. She sounds like the blues singer of ponies. Or maybe a boxer. Also her character card says "she is very clever and loves to help her friends with their problems." Her accessory? A punchbowl with two cups. That cracked me up. Bluesinger Bartender pony. I also got Cherry Berry because I am sad to say that Hasbro is not making enough earth ponies. The ratio is like 2:1 pegasi to pony and almost 3:1 unicorn to pony.

In other pony news these just popped up on one of my fave pony blogs. New blind bag characters and possibly a glimpse into the new character sets:

Filly molds! Only Applebloom and Diamond Tiara have popped up, but that makes me wonder if they may make a CMC set! I can't even imagine how super-duper teeny-tiny those little ones will be next to the itsy bitsy blind bags.

Hoity Toity! I freaking loved him. And please oh please put him in a set with Photo Finish and Fancy Pants!

These are some of the other new ones that have shown up. Clear bodies and painted manes and tails. While I am not a huge fan of the glitter ones, but these are kinda cool. What is cooler is that many have new expressions painted on. There are more at the link but I think

OH MY GOSH Apple Fritter and

Mysterious Angry Barber with a Mustache and Cravat are my faves.

ETA: OMG looking on ebay I found her! Photo Finish!!! Also a GORGEOUS white Celestia. I cannot start ebaying with this. That way lies madness.

Isn't Tara Strong the voice actress who plays Twilight Sparkle? Is it really cosplay when that's the role she plays for the show? I think it would've been cool if the actresses who play the Mane Six showed up dressed as their characters at some convention.

There were only two ponies in the whole store! And both of them were Applejack! I got the one with the proper Winona animal friend. The other one had a turtle.

Now I'm pondering if I should leave it in the package like a good little collector, or if I should follow my dream and put Winona in the saddle and the saddle on the Applejack LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE.

One of the nights at Burningman, Staff left the inmates incharge if camp. They brought out pony horns and played My Little Pony Dubstep over the sound system. They thought it would clear the shade structure of people but instead ended up attracting a bunch of bronies.

For the longest time I've wanted this thing. It didn't exist anywhere. NO WHERE AT ALL. I'm not really a hat guy, and I've tried being a hat guy. It just doesn't really work on me. But winter is coming (brace yourselves) and now that I'm keeping my noggin very trimmed down, my brain gets cold and a hat becomes more necessity than fashion statement.

And now, thanks to We Love Fine, my dream of this thing I've wanted for a long time, even though hats are my thing is a reality.

Rainbow Dash isn't necessarily my favorite pony but she does have the coolest cutiemark (at least 20% cooler). The only dislike about it is I would have preferred the RDcm on a navy blue hat.

So there it is. I am now a collector of pony things.
