Spiders are kinda creepy but I always consider them allies against bitey bugs. Although some spiders ARE bitey bugs, which is where I draw the line. Also spider webs in my face when walking to/from my garden shed? Not cool!

Not sure why spiders are demonic.

I bet they'd be ok with a sheep, even though sheep can be demons too.

I like them because they sit in their corner minding their own business, and they build stuff, which is fascinating to watch. Then there are houseflies that eat shit and then want to sit on my face and are generally annoying. So I slap the fly and feed the spider, which eases the conscience and I get extra entertainment when the meal is packaged.

Spiders don't have bones and muscles. They move around by pushing fluid into and out of their legs. Like boners.

But the hydraulic part is still like a boner.

More US war on Palestine...

Senate Panel Approves Bill To Cut All Aid To Palestine

Quote:
The bill not only requires the Palestinians to end payments to those killed during accused “acts of terrorism,” but would also require the Palestinians to outlaw any provision of aid to the families of anyone held in Israeli prisons.

Given the scope of Israel’s detentions, that would effectively bar the PA from providing any aid at all to the population, as virtually everyone has a family member under detention on some pretext or another.
So. There is no way the PA would survive the cutting of that aid for more than 5 minutes. There is probably also no way for them to survive the US cuts, unless somebody else steps in. And if the PA were to collapse, the Israelis will NOT be happy, because they would have to do all their own policing and take over Palestinian services as well.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have reportedly established a joint operations room in order to coordinate efforts against ISIS in Deir Ezzor and Raqqa provinces as well as to improve the security situation in Aleppo province.

According to the Lebanese newspaper, Al-Akhbar, the operations room has already been established and this will be officially announced by the two parties soon. The so-called “Turkish threat” in northern Syria was the main reason behind the decision to boost the coordination between the two parties.

Turkey is allegedly ready to launch a large-scale military operation against Kurdish militias in the Afrin area. These Kurdish militias are a core of the SDF and now they seek to boost cooperation with the “Assad regime”. Another reason is tensions between the SDF and other US-backed groups of the Free Syrian Army.

Pro-government sources claimed that a joint operations room that include the SAA and the Manbij Military Council [Arab SDF faction] is currently being prepared in Al-Aryima area near Manbij. Thus, according various sources at least two operations room have been set up in different parts of northern Syria.

This is a panic thing here:

Aldi pulls eggs from German stores over fipronil poison fear - BBC News

Quote:
Supermarket giant Aldi has withdrawn all eggs from sale from its stores in Germany as they may have been contaminated by insecticide.
Tests showed that the chemical fipronil, which can harm people's kidneys, liver and thyroid glands, was found in eggs from the Netherlands.
Fipronil is used to treat lice and ticks in chickens.
One German official said up to 10 million of the contaminated eggs may have been sold in Germany.
Christian Meyer, the agriculture minister for Lower Saxony, told German television that there was a risk to children if they ate two of the eggs a day.
About 180 poultry farms in the Netherlands have been temporarily shut in recent days while investigations are held.
Marieke van der Molen, of the Dutch public prosecutor's office, said a criminal investigation was under way to find the source of the contamination.
Meanwhile, European supermarkets have moved to halt the distribution of eggs from the affected batches.
However, Aldi - which has close to 4,000 stores in Germany - is the first retailer to stop selling all eggs as a precaution.

Inside the Saudi town that's been under siege for three months by its own government | The Independent

Quote:
Grisly photos of wounds inflicted by snipers and the destruction of homes and shops cannot be independently verified.

But the picture painted by several researchers and Saudis The Independent spoke to – one armed protester inside the besieged city, and two peaceful pro-Awamiyah activists now living outside the country – is of an untenable humanitarian situation.

“I was a peaceful protester, most of us in Awamiyah were, until the government decided to list us as wanted terrorists. All we did was maintain calls for reform. Because we were not afraid of the regime, they targeted the whole city,” an armed anti-government activist said in a rare interview with Western media.

Tunisian fishermen have prevented a ship carrying European far-right activists from docking, dealing a blow to their mission to disrupt the flow of migrant boats from Africa to Europe.

GI says non-governmental organisations active in the Mediterranean collude with people traffickers.

But the Zarzis fishermen said the anti-migrant activists were racists.

It seems unlikely. There is a video of a palm tree that is burning but why is unclear. Could be that a window focused the rays on it or something?

In other news: 'Pummeled' by questions, Wyden says anti-BDS law is needed because 'boycott movement has grown'

He seems to be saying that it would all be very well for some people to use their legal right to boycott, but if too many people do it, that's bad m'kay.

They were within reach of the exploding car fuel?

It doesn't (to my reading) say bushes caught fire spontaneously.

No, it doesn't say that. And like I said in the video it is unclear why the palm tree goes up. Could be a spark too. The high temp would make it more likely to cause a fire though.

It could be the heat combined with very dry air. If there was some kind of spark, the tree could've been set alight.

As someone who supports the BDS movement, I find the idea of this legislation offensive. If the senators from my state vote for this fucking thing, I will vote against them when they go up for re-election.

Seriously, the Israeli government needs to see sense. The current situation is completely untenable. Their desire to take all the land for themselves will never work, so if we need to beat them over their heads with the BDS movement to make them see sense, so be it.

Wow. I managed to express a political opinion without slipping into uttering profanities.

Sounds stupid, but looking through a site on government recalls, I saw an awful lot of window hanging charm things recalled because they caused fires for that exact reason. If it looks stupid and causes fires, it might be stupid for a totally different reason.
