Dude, this takes it to a whole new level.
They've got a "flagging" system where you can effectively cry "uncle" by flagging for 2nd, 3rd or whatever place is available, after which the game will make sure that you cannot attain higher than that position by kicking you out if there are only
x players left standing. i.e. If you flag 2nd, you will be forcibly resigned when there are 2 players left. Since you accumulate points allowing you to play more tables, 2nd is still a fair go.
This introduces interesting dynamics. If you're in a situation you clearly can't win but have a fair amount of turf, you can flag 2nd and the leaders will generally turn their attention to each other instead of attacking you, secure in the knowledge that you can't possibly win (although someone else who wants second might keep trying to nail you).
The chat function also introduces layers of diplomacy, with people often making and breaking alliances, sometimes even from the start of the game.
Soooo addictive.
