Default Forgiveness

With all the events happening in America this past week, I have to single out one which impressed me the most. To me, the event in Charleston was the most emotional thing in my memory. The nation was given an unforgettable lesson in the joyful experience that love and forgiveness can bring.

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing. It goes hand and hand with a supreme love of humans. Forgiveness is what we all like to believe is the best feeling that a human heart can feel toward another human. It exalts all humans.

Forgiveness is both tearful and joyful at the same time. It cleanses and purifies. It lifts the human heart to the heights of heaven. Gravity is overcome. To the religious, forgiveness is a miracle which comes from the grace of a merciful and loving God. To the non-religious, it is the best expression of what whole-hearted passion and compassion are capable of. Forgiveness unites one heart to another heart.

From "The Whole Human I: Sketches in Wonderland"...

Since the Person must be tolerant and allow for a margin of error in relationships, and Time plays such an important part in forming bonds, the Person must be forgiving. Some things can’t be corrected or restored so it is best not to hold grudges but to forgive and forget. The Person must hold on to the good memories and forget the other ones. Forgiving mends the heart and makes it one and whole.

Since the Person is founded on feelings, it is prone to mistakes. Most mistakes are correctable over time and those that cannot be corrected are forgiven.

To have a heart which is tolerant is a wonderful thing.

The Person allows for mistakes and forgives those which are not correctible.

Rather than reward and punishment this is my feeling about Justice

I am willing to admit that it is not always easy to forgive. This is especially true when people's lives are involved, like in Charleston. In this case, faith in God was also involved.

At this time I am not all that sure I would be able to forgive even with faith in God.

In everyday affairs I am able to forgive since I try not to judge others and I don't judge myself.

My feelings about judging and forgiving make up my feelings about Justice. I feel Justice is a balancing act. I weigh each side of the equation and with feelings of love in my heart I arrive at an answer.
