Update: Found some lines to Brisbane graffitti.

Mostly Sticker/Stencil art.

Traditional graffitti.

I love the sticker art! That was something I noticed about London and NYC that I haven't seen here.

I love Stencil Revolution. Have a browse through the stencil galleries when you have some time. There's some nice stuff in there. The tutorials are killer as well. Stenciled t-shirts are where it's at.

It's like a study of reds and blues in 3 media: spray paint, plastic boxes, girl with bike. Are you sure you didn't hire that girl to wear a red skirt and roll a blue bike past that wall? ;)

I was hoping to find some artwork by Juner, one of the more infamous graffiti artists in RI. At one point he climbed up the top of the abandoned Masonic Temple off of RT 95 in Providence and spraypainted "Temple of Junerism" across the top where thousands of people drove past it every day for years... Unfortunately I couldn't find any of his work online, and this picture of the Masonic Temple was taken after they got rid of Juner's tag.

However I did find some pretty interesting vids on utube. Check 'em out, though maybe turn down the bass on your computer speakers first...

Here's my favorite pics of graffiti that I have on my PC. These aren't in my neighborhood, just some I found serfing the net, but are just some that I really like. When it gets a tad warmer I'm defiantly going to head into the city and see if I can find some cool graffiti work.

For the first pic it's just some crazy image that some artist decided to draw. You'll have to forgive the name of the picture. When I was titling it I thought it was quite funny. Then again I was going on a little sleep deprivation so I thought everything was funny.
The second one I really like just cause it is rather quite. Something about wearing outdated scooba gear I think is awesome.
The third one I really like. It's nicely done and I love how he sprayed the chess pieces.
Fourth image isn't actual graffiti but some used graffiti style and with photoshop made it.

Nice thread necro, Wisesheep. This is a great thread.

There's a bridge in Atlanta just off of DeKalb Ave that leads into Cabbagetown that is free range for the graffiti artists. There's some nice work in there, but all the pics I have of it contain my friends' band and it's hard to see. Must go back with camera.

Unfortunately around here we mostly get "taggers" who just write their vaguely decipherable scrawls or stickers on everything. There was only one that I found actually amusing and it was a large (8.5" x 11") sticker on a garage door back in 2005:

I would tell people this person fucks bitches! but I can't read their name.

There is one famous tunnel up near Portland State that had some good graffiti, we called the path to it the "Ho Chi Min trail."
Then we have Tom, a railroad worker who painted columns under a (now) destroyed bridge, Diogenes looking for one honest man, that was pretty good.
James Malbon Harrison

I also used to go by that bridge all the time. The art was there for quite a while.

Grady took some great pictures of the graffiti in my neighborhood while he was here. He also took a bunch on the Paramount backlot, and it's fun to compare the "real" graffiti with the "stage" graffiti.

Here's a GIS for Krog Street Tunnel that I was talking about in my last post:

I loved this one, don't think I ever saw it though.

I remember when I was in junior high school my art teacher had a photo book of graffiti art. Some of it was very good. I do consider graffiti art to be an often creative art form in spite of its illegality.

If I owned a building, I would seriously consider commissioning some kind of artistic work to be painted on it.

Something that I don't think I captured very well is the sense of disappointment I had in those tunnels under MacArthur Park. Coming from Es's apartment, the tunnel with the graffiti was first. I was excited by the graffiti and really enjoyed taking pictures of it and after I got done I walked to the next tunnel, all a tremble with anticipation like a virgin on her wedding night, and I was assaulted by the complete lack of decent graffiti in that second tunnel.
