Re: Official FF Generic Catch-All Thrad for Reverse Racism, Misandry, etc.
One of my friends actually did post one of the tweets with the comment that it was her life.

Copy pastaing it has kinda made it look like a wall of text, but read it, it's good.
Trigger Warning: Douchecannoe.
I can almost picture the guy she is talking about, and know tons of women that have been run off by that community not only because of skeazy men but women leaders who responded with "But did you acknowledge his feelings and create space for them?" and they are like "Da Fuck bitch! be glad I didn't break his nose right there!"

I am not a journalist, though, so I am not in competition for that title. And competing for most manly is like competing for who is the best at second grade, anyway.
A few years ago, I guess, Popular Mechanics had some stupid feature on the N number of skills you needed to be a real man or something. It was full of a bunch of super-dumb shit like "installing an antivirus program on your Windows computer" and "plugging in your television" and shit, and then had a couple of 'hardcore' things tossed in, including a kayak rescue that was being seen as aspirational or something, like that recipe for roast bear in The Joy of Cooking, I guess.
I had done that one, though, too. I passed some sort of test for some kind of wildwater lifeguard certification that included rescuing a capsized human dummy plus their kayak and towing them back to shore simultaneously.
But why, Lisa Pea, if you passed that certification, do you not remember what it was even called? Wouldn't you have had, like, a certificate on your wall? Well, no I didn't, because while I was allowed to take the full advanced skills test, eleven year olds were ineligible to be certified at that level.

Heeheehee. I read the whole thing, and from the start I was reminded of a funny thing that happened the other night. We were out in one of the cute bar-and-restaurant parts of our city doing our thing, and a small group of people, like 2 or 3 couples, comes out of one of the bars-or-restaurants and they seem like they're all having a good time. One of the men looks at his car parked at the curb and he goes, "Look at that parking job. That is a fine parking job." Without missing a beat, his date says, "You're a great driver." She wasn't sarcastic or patronizing, it sounded completely sincere, and the guy beamed proudly.
I almost lost my shit because they reminded me so much of a pre-school teacher and her big-boy student who makes poo poo in the potty.
Re: Official FF Generic Catch-All Thrad for Reverse Racism, Misandry, etc.
I'm all about being complimented for not screwing up once in a while, but a parking job? Even my fragile, delicate snowflake ego would feel patronized. Now, if I were to, say, remember to take out the trash…

A few years back I drove my then college-aged niece and her friends somewhere. I parallel parked and all of them were amazed and impressed. I was a little surprised that it took something as minor as being able to parallel park to impress a car full of know-it-all college kids.

I'm taking from your story that you were 11 in 2nd grade.
