Not that important for Santa to have a real beard.

Arbitrarily firing someone arbitrarily just because they're not the same as everyone else? That's a bit more of an eyebrow-raiser. If they weren't seasonal they'd never get away with it.

The real question is how important are traditions? As the story states, some families have been visiting the same Santa for years and wanted to keep up the tradition for their children.

lol Macy's

School repeatedly engages in clearly illegal and unconstitutional practice? Students need to shut up and deal with it. Store has Santas with fake beards? TO ACTION!

I dunno. The more I think about this, the more I like it.

I've always wanted to do one of those boycott things, but when I tried to boycott union-busting stores, stores that don't pay employees living wages, and stores that don't sell sweatshop products, it was much too much work.

This "no fake-bearded Santas" thing might be something I could pull off, though.

Do I boycott just stores that had a real-bearded Santa and then fired him or her in favor of a fake one? Every store that does not have a real-bearded Santa? Every store that has a fake-bearded Santa?

Can I also boycott stores that have like Chinese Santas and stuff like that? Or, like, what if a Santa is a real-bearded white Santa, but he also speaks Mexican? Can I boycott that?

You should boycot every store where the Santa's boots don't smell like Reindeer shit, Something that should be easy for you to pick up on.

Sorry, cannot boycott Macy's. When they bought out Hudson's they got all their recipes. My tummy, that is currently happily stuffed with a salad made with Hudson's sesame dressing, would never forgive me if I deprived it of this treat. And don't even talk to me about giving up real Maurice salads. Ain't gonna happen.

Yeah, fuck Macys--my ex-wife works there.

Apparently they'll employ total narcissists, as long as their are clean-shaven.
