Re: tapatalk?
I have an iPod touch. When I browsed to using the normal safari browser it asked me if I wanted to use tapatalk, but I said no and it's not asked me again since.

Testing quote function.
I can't see smileys either, which is odd bc I explicitly turned on the option to show them.
Test to see if default vbb smilies show up:
Also, no [Thanks] hack means that my ability to cause social damage on the go is limited.
ETA: default smilies do show...Tapatalk is racist against the !

~~~Tappy-tap app
ETA: I kid. I paid for it with some change from my panties, where money that falls out of my ass goes.
Damn tapatalk. First they link to us then they destroy what makes us great! (Our smilies and our [Thanks]!)
Re: tapatalk?
Just testing to see if the mobile version (which doesn't require Tapatalk) works.
Edit: Yes, it did! So you can just use that from your mobile devices and save $2.99
However, before you switch to mobile mode, make sure you have a way to get back to normal mode again! The links below should do it, if you want to try.
Oh ya, I probably should have mentioned that when raven first posted. I assumed she'd tried it and preferred the Tapatalk version.
Re: tapatalk?
My test post shouldn't be taken as indicating that I don't like or won't use Tapatalk now that we have it. Despite the inability to cause social damage from my phone, I do like the interface. [Thanks] for setting it up, liv.
Re: tapatalk?
Yeah, it'll be great for those times when I want to read but can't because of corporate Big Brother-ism.
Yeah, I've been using the mobile version on Dolphin. tapatalk is much easier to navigate, at least for me. I'm not constantly expanding the window so I can hit the right links and then shrinking it to something more optimum for reading.
Re: tapatalk?
Seems okay. Too much of the screen (on my iPad touch) is wasted in landscape mode. In portrait mode it's easier to browse recent posts than using the safari browser.
But as others have said, the thanks feature is missing and it only displays the basic smilies like and . Also, some of the other forums I visit don't support tapatalk - once I'm using safari for those, I tend to stick with it for too.
If tapatalk had a 'try before you buy' option, then I would have saved my £1.79 and not bought it, but I suppose now I have it anyway, I will use it on occasion.
Re: tapatalk?
three of the forums I visit most often have tapatalk installed. I tend to keep both my dolphin browser and tapatalk active and switch back and forth. It's so much easier to compose a reply in tapatalk (though I agree the formatting/smilies are an issue). On the forums where I am most active, I know the codes for my favorite smilies, so I can both post and read them.
Re: tapatalk?
I got an email notice from tapatalk that the app is finally available for the blackberry. crackberry.com is currently featuring it for $2.99 and it's in the App World for $3.99.
Re: tapatalk?
Contra tried tappatalk on his iphone but hasn't looked for it yet on Win Phone 7. I found metro brower, which kicks IE in the boobs. It is full screen as the options menu runs behind the active window. Also has unlimited tabs, sweet favorites, a list of recent sites visited, and a private browsing mode. The light version is p rough, hacked through some google thing but it gets the job done on most sites. It also has a list of sites you frequently visit, but haven't added to favorites. Sharing pages is super easy from a phone, I can send a page via text, email, facebook, the twitters, all with a touch of a button. Really useful that. My main thing is that it seems to run faster than IE. Also, it is free!
Couple of bugs though: once logged in to a site it is impossible to log out without uninstalling. But I can still use IE for Demicon and my socks. Sometimes when scrolling down it will get hung up, and you have to scroll up a tad before scrolling down. Only at some sites though and never at . Once every hundred page loads or so, the hyper links break and you must reload. Still better than IE though.
Re: tapatalk?
I use dolphin browser and I'm very happy with it. it doesn't have unlimited tabs, but does have way more tabs than I need. I think I hit the max once. Otherwise it has all the features you're describing, plus gesture commands. draw a g on the screen and go to google. draw an f (without the cross) and go to facebook. Draw a v and go to the bottom. draw a carat and go to the top. And add whatever gestures you like as short cuts to your favorites.
I should check out the premium version features, but the light version works so well for me I've never bothered.
ah...I guess metro is for the iPhone. I don't see it in the android market. and vice versa. Dolphin isn't available on the iPhone.
Re: tapatalk?
Personally I don't think you should encourage people to post from their mobiles as they just post few line sound bites that are inevitably worthless and say nothing.
But that's just me I think mobiles are worthless anyway so I would say that.
Posted from the centre of my universe (which revolves around some fashion item that I think makes me big and clever) using wankatalk: look at me TM*.
*no look at me, look at me 10,000 years of civilisation went into making this shit work, you ignorant prick..! Please!
Re: tapatalk?
I just installed the new version of the tapatalk server app at TR tonight. Reading the changelog, I noticed that they now support post thanks ( this hack)
This could do wonderful things for Adem's ability to cause social damage while tapatalking.
I just mashed some buttons vigorously. Does the thanks work in tapatalk now?
