ohh hi, favorite topic, how you doin?

Ummm. ok. In case you missed my epic and hilarious humor...

I like every genre of music except my kids'.

ha ha - nah.

Aesop Rock - holycrap - seems I missed 10, 15 or so years. New album "Integrated Tech Solutions" is on hi-ro on my YouTubes as well as in my head with the tinnitus and all my other imaginary songs and the other music. Best album I have heard in the nerdcore sub-genre of hip-hop, ever. But, all of his songs and other material are the most amazing lyrics ever.

Other nerdcore: Mega Ran is unstoppable, and I am so happy for him. His kids' album, "Bubdy's Magic Toy Box," was up for Grammy consideration - OMG NERDCORE at the Grammys. He is doing WWE stuff, a lot of amazing work. He's from Philadelphia PA and is one of the best human people I have ever met or known.

More nerdcore, MC Lars - flow like Poe - he is so sweet, he even replies to my unsolicited, unedited writings, and tells me to keep up the good work. Ok just go listen, :ff: - he's the one you may really like, no time to explain.

Christian Country - YES I LIKE IT. If you saw or heard Flamy Grant, then you would, too. YES I bought all her stuff. When her 2022 album "Bible Belt Baby" flew up the Christian Country charts in 2023, I was like, HELLO, I pledge allegiance to the DRAG. (yeah I wrote an extended version of that). She was also up for a Grammy, on the Christian chart. but, was disqualified for two words. Her fellow Christian County singer-songwriter Derek Webb is delightful.

Country: Izzy Miller - all his entire catalog.

ok that's more than enough for now

Flamy Grant's theology is on point.

FORTUNE TELLER

I’m a medium, I’m a fortune teller
I know every word you’re gonna say
I’m a headstrong, lifelong city dweller
I can take you where you’re going by the fastest way
It’s gonna be okay

I traveled time, I’m here from the future
I can show you how this all turns out
I can save you with the data in my computer
We can flourish in the flood and avoid the drought
Yeah, we’re gonna make it out

You feel it in your bones
But your head is moving slow

I’m a scientist, I got a method and a measure
For observable, reliable, repeatable fact
I’m a decorated educator in the field of pleasure
I’ve learned a lot of lessons I can reenact
Yeah, I been keeping track

You sense that I am true
But your heart is split in two

I'm a prophetess, singing my story
A dressed-up, effervescent, ethical fraud
But this world ain’t ready for an allegory, no
We’re still waiting on a literal god
I just smile and nod

You have intuition
And it’s telling you the story isn’t done

(end quote)

ETA 2: "I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE, TO THE DRAG, of the United States of America. AND TO THE KICKSTARTER, FOR FLAMY GRANT, one nation, under a groove, with a BIG GAY CHRISTIAN RECORD for all!" - me, 10 weeks ago

11:31pm, last night, I mention Izzy Miller as being a Country singer I like, who you also might like. I did not share any links to his music.

11:30am, today, Izzy Miller links to his album that I like, and, have saved, but, was too tired to link to, 12 hours ago.

Izzy Miller on all the media platforms: - annnnd that link does NOT work on THIS forum, holy crap I am sorry

It is great to see that drumming god Simon Phillips is still at it.

Phillips and his band are currently taking part in Cruise to the Edge, which I secretly think about attending but won't due to priggishness about frivolous spending and prolonged time away from family and the jerb. (THIS would have been the year to go. Marillion AND Big Big Train, along with Steve Hackett, Riverside, The Flower Kings, Haken, Adrian Belew, Martin Barre, Stick Men, and a host of others? Holy fuck.)

I'm most of the way through this, some early proto-experimental synth metal

Here's the late, great Cozy Powell tearing up with Jack Bruce (Cream et al.) on bass, Clem Clempson (Humble Pie) on guitar, and Max Middleton (Jeff Beck Group et al.) and Don Airey (Rainbow, Deep Purple, et al.) on keyboards.

Put on your headphones and crank up the volume.

Is there a better spoken-word song?
