Oh! Yeah, I don't endorse the notion that you need to have overweight people represented among the researchers or anything like that. If anything, I'd like to see researchers be, oh, scientists who are also grownups. I don't care about their BMIs so much.

I don't remember a link about that. Do you remember what it looked like or any of the stuff it said? Sometimes I can find things pretty good by remembering random irrelevant details.

There are a couple of pages I think I've linked to that show what different BMIs look like in real life. Was it one of these?

Thanks. It was literally "Why BMI is Bullshit" or something really similar. I googled the phrase and it didn't come up, so I obviously have it wrong, but I think it's close.

It's an article (like a news article or very professional-looking blog, not just some of that more random internet blah-blah-blah stuff) where the guy talks about how the BMI was developed as a quick and dirty way to describe the obesity levels in the community on average, and were never meant to be applied to individual bodies.

The state employees health program is going to start penalizing people over a certain BMI in a few years, so it's been discussed around the office quite a bit lately. It always seemed like a scam to me, just because there are no considerations for the width of the shoulders and chest or the percentage of muscle to fat.

Yeah, she really is. I have that in my reader just because she's funny and I like her.
