I don't fold my socks. They just get chucked loose into a drawer.

Re: Miscellany
I do pair some of my socks (NOT FOLDED, just rolled together by the cuff), but that's because I accidentally got some socks that I THOUGHT were my regular kind of socks, but they're actually subtly different, so I have two kinds of black ribbed socks that are not obviously distinct enough.
Because one time, my brother was wearing slightly different textured socks, and a homeless gentleman made fun of him for it.

Re: Miscellany
Do you know the whereabouts of that homeless gentleman? I should like to give him some small change in recognition of his efforts.

Re: Miscellany
As of today, we are whatever is about half a step above broakass hobo (just broakass? just hobo?). By tightening our budget so far down we could barely see it and living like monks, we were able to raise our credit score like 200 pts, then get a small loan at 10% less interest than our highest interest credit cards, so that gives us an extra few hunnerds a month
I am still standing with the mortgage modification, though they've thrown everything they can at me (on month 7 and third full set of documents sent). One of us has to give and it will be them by gawd.

Via a friend of mine on Facebook, who created it (the mash-up, that is, not the god-awful trailer):
Part two of the film will be John Galt's speech. Just the speech.

Are you some sort of barbarian? Rolling socks together by the cuff stretches the elasticity of the sock constantly; well at least thick ones like my socks. Don't get me started on people who ball their socks together, though I guess there is a correct way to do this, which I may attempt just to irritate Qingdai. Usually I've seen them balled together in the "I might as well just wrap my feet in pillow-cases, for all the elasticity I will ever get out of these fuckers," moron-style.
I assume sock-pilers and and stretch-rollers buy 30-packs at Wal-Mart of synthetic tube socks every six months because they secretly loathe their feet and are reprobates barely able to cut their own meat. I swear to sweet Krishna's pinkish-blue ass that I am surprised on a daily basis that the human species doesn't simply die out from an advanced case of dim-wittery, or perhaps some accident involving not folding one's socks correctly. Give the human race a few more years and we'll all be riding around on &feature=fvst in our , eating the ; when we want to dress up we'll wear Ugg Boots or flip-flops with our pajamas and/ or tank tops, and probably forgo socks altogether (would this be referred to as "going Commantoe?").
Okay I got that out of my system.

Re: Miscellany
Yes, by all means, let's preserve the elastic at the top. That way when I stop wearing the socks because the toes or heels wore out, BY GOD their elastic will still be in good shape!
God ...

Re: Miscellany
Nay, 'tis unpossible for men's socks of any strength and value. For lay-dee socks made out of tissue paper, flimsy men's dress socks, and cheap-ass thin socks, sure. My time-wear studies clearly show the elastic wears at nearly the same rate as the rest of the sock when husbanded and preserved by one who enjoys a sock that does not engage in frippery about the ankle. Fie!

Re: Miscellany
It would be good to lessen the elastic power of some socks. Sometimes it feels like you've had your leg wrapped in a boa constrictor all day.
But I ball my socks (in a very rough way) and I never noticed any elasticity reduction. I think wearing them and washing them (especially on a hot wash) has more effect.

Re: Miscellany
I fold one sock at the heel and fold its matching sock at the heel in the opposite direction (think "L" turned backwards). I then place one sock on top of the other but slide it down about and inch or two. Next I roll from the heels until I get to the top and then fold the opening of the outer sock over the bundle. This makes for a very small and neat package that is easy to store.
Black dress socks in one drawer, brown socks in another, and athletic socks go in a third.
Odd little things get organized and categorized by me, yet other things, like my desk, are piled in a mess. Go figure.

We generally pull clean socks out of the basket wherever I laid it because I hate putting laundry away. However I do a modified fold roll thing when I do bother
